From the moment we stepped through the door 🚪 , we were welcomed like family. Dennis, the managing proprietor, greeted us with a genuine smile, and hostess Hanna radiated warmth with her smile. The whole staff exudes passion and joy—it’s contagious! 😷

We kicked things off with the Shrimp Scampi Pizzetta 🍤🍕 and a Tricolor Salad 🥗.

Let me just say—this pizzetta 🍕 is next-level. Tender gulf shrimp 🍤, EVOO, capers, garlic 🧄, arugula, and a hint of citrus 🍋‍🟩, all atop a perfectly crisp crust oozing with melted mozzarella 🧀. It’s a flavor bomb 💣 that you must try.

The Tricolor Salad was no sidekick—it brought fresh burrata, roasted peppers 🫑, almonds, and greens 🥬 together with a luscious balsamic glaze. Add those fluffy pizza bread points 🍞 for scooping? Chef’s kiss. 👨‍🍳❤️

Simple, yet bold. •   Baby Rack of Lamb 🐑: Coated in a Dijon-panko crust, served with fingerling potatoes 🥔 and broccoli rabe 🥦, and finished with fresh chimichurri 🥄. Every bite was a bold, savory dance 🕺. •   The Pork Chop “Ultima” 🐖: Topped with spicy cherry peppers 🌶️🍒 and melted mozzarella 🧀, this bone-in beauty was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. A true “wow” dish. 😱

Though we were stuffed, we were surprised with the dessert they brought to the table. The warm Dulce de Leche crepe with fresh strawberries 🍓 and whipped cream was pure velvet. Light, sweet, comforting—utter perfection.

Very nice place! It was our first time here and we were both very pleased. Excellent food!

The staff all seemed very nice and helpful. Made reservations and we did not have a wait at all (not sure if that is how it is all the time but remember this is a year of Covid so I'm sure a wait is normal when covid is not a thing).

The waiter was off to a good start, came over brought us waters and drink menu. Average price for specialty drinks. I was tempted to try the Lemon drop Martini but went for a boring old beer lol. Hubby got Jack and Coke and said it was generous with the Jack 👍🏻

We ordered Salad, Calamari Fritti and meals (Chicken Marsala & Grilled Salmon)

The wait staff all seemed to work well with each other... meaning someone different brought out each course... Not our waiter. That didn't bother us because they were kind of busy for Sunday and at this point it was just salad and the appetizer.

We noticed the waiter had just got a table with a about 8 people so at this point we had a feeling that would be the last we would see of him.

Meals arrive and the server looked a little lost as to where to go but made his way to us.

Our waiter did not come back unfortunately until just about done. Luckily though if we were to need anything there was always someone in an earshot so overall I actually can't complain about the service.

The service was very good my original waiter not so much. He was very nice and helpful with questions before party table.

I get it bigger table bigger tip. I can't even fault him for that being we are dealing with covid and restaurants had been closed and reopened with restrictions so maybe he really had to hustle... I don't know. But again that was just 1 person and he didn't suck but was lacking.

Normally I would have been upset and this is no fault of the establishment. (Like I said there was always another server around so it wasn't like we were ever sitting waiting long for anything.

The food was fantastic, they even accommodated my request and put a candle in my husband's dessert (which was delivered by our original waiter lol and a few other waiters) that sang Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉

I would 100% go back. Like I said, we would have been upset if we were just ignored but that was never the case.

Chopped Salad (dressing was good, had red pepper, tomatoes and olives)

Calamari Fritti (cooked perfectly the sauce was good too. I added black pepper to sauce but thats just my preference)

Chicken Marsala (Hubby said it was delicious, very tender, not overcooked, very generous portion)

Grilled Salmon (Very good, was not dry and it had a great taste with the beans and Spinach)

Cheesecake (hubby likes his plain) mine has strawberries, with strawberry and Vanilla cream and it was delicious.

I will also add that this place was very elegant and clean. Covid protocols in place but definitely call incase things change.

I also used open table to make reservations but I still called the restaurant to make sure they had us booked.

The food was amazing and our guests were pleased beyond words. My mother recently passed away and we decided to have the repast lunch at Matteo’s of Huntington with 50 guests. And we were not disappointed. On the day of the event, we had a dear brother of ours who is a well-known television personally/event planner go to the restaurant anonymously to ensure that upon our arrival everything was ready; and it was. The staff worked with him and he made certain that the sitting arrangements were to our liking (he will undoubtedly provide his own review at his convenience). To begin with, when we initially booked the venue, which is quite proximal to our home, the chef worked with us to prepare a menu that we would enjoy and our guests would find delectable and appealing to their palates. The food was absolutely delicious; there was plenty of it and the service was top-notched. One of the things that pleased me was their flexibility in allowing us to bring a dish of our own that we made ourselves to honor my mother’s memory and her love for cooking excellent food, as she was an incredible cook. Everyone ate to their heart’s content. We were very satisfied. What mattered to me and my wife the most was to ensure that the food was fresh, delicious, and served with respect. Everything worked out splendidly. There was a great deal of food, drinks, desserts, and our guests left the place smiling and barely able to walk from eating nearly everything. Even the children were happy. I have no doubt that my mother was delighted and gave her blessings from heaven at the level of love, respect we gave her and also received at Matteo’s. We honored her in a manner that she deserves. We will certainly keep Matteo’s in mind for any future events and...
