My regular Greek spot was closed on a Monday so I decided to try this place for a late lunch since I had passed it so many times and it looked nice since its renovation several year ago. Well was I disappointed in quite a few things.
I enter the place and it seems cute a young woman very nice says sit wherever you want. So I go into the next room and sit at a big table because the other tables were high/tall tops and the rest extremely small even for 2. Mind you there’s only 1 other party in the room. We sit and a server who seemed to have a chip on his shoulder not very friendly says can you sit by the front window in case a bigger party comes in. I looked at him looked around and said is someone waiting now for the table? and he said no but in case we get 6 people, these are 2 small tables together, mind you it’s 2:15pm and it’s super quiet in there With plenty other tables. He re seats us to a table in the corner looking out to the street and we smell something like garbage. I look and see the workers coming up from the cellar with piles and piles of large garbage bags. A table is eating outside next to this filth. I wanted to leave at that point but my bf did not want to make a scene. Funny thing is across from us a woman is sitting alone and I overhear a friend who had come in and ran into her say to her you smell and she said ummm what? he laughed but obviously it was the smell from outside we were right by the emergency door. I told her when he left. She was getting self conscious, I assured her it was in the garbage air, I’m sure from outside.
The waiter returns asks if we want to order. Before I left my house we checked the menu out and saw they had a lunch menu special but we had no lunch menus so I asked about it and he said oh let me get them. Ummm no it’s lunch they should have been given to us. If you serve lunch specials til 3 pm why not share that menu with your guests. Seemed like they wanted us to spend more and order from the dinner menus. If I didn’t ask or know we’d spend double the money.
We order the grilled salmon with Greek salad ask please no cucumbers. It comes out and it is a very small piece of salmon thin for $21 it was good ok but small, the salad is chopped there’s cucumbers in both orders even though I said none, cheap feta looked like dry cottage cheese, tomatoes were Good ripe and 1 olive with a pit🤨. No pita bread served at the table, the food doesn’t seem like authentic Greek. The server checks in again he’s not friendly seemed like he was doing us a favor in a rush.. I see him outside at one point carrying garbage I was so grossed out. As we are eating I’m watching the bigger table away from my garbage scene and smell…sit empty so thanks for moving us for no patrons. Bad first impression here. Server returns and asks if we want coffee and we reply no let’s get the check and we were out.. no thanks for coming from anyone, it’s a very cold & unfriendly place but happens to be cute inside seems clean inside but had that smell like a cesspool making it feel dirty.
The food was average just ok not great not worth it for the portion. Neraki Greek is around the block and blows this place away especially for lunch specials in comparison..actually there is none it’s 100% authentic Greek specialties big portions reasonably priced and excellent service my lunch spot $15.97 and served with fresh hot pita bread. This place hides the specials gives stingy portion not friendly poor hygienic and smelled bad. I will Not return here, nothing to be...
Read moreIf you are looking for a fabulous greek restaurant that will blow your mind, look no further than Parea! The hostess, host, chefs & server gave my daughter & I the warmest greeting as soon as we entered Parea for dinner.
All of the staff were wearing masks, tables outside were spread apart for social distancing and the decor is aesthetic. My daughter with special needs & I chose to dine indoors since it was not crowded. The dining area & bathroom are kept meticulously clean & the food smells heavenly as you enter.
We were seated immediately by Marley, who was very warm & friendly, made suggestions and took our orders. She was most attentive to us, gave us additional napkins when requested and served us immediately. We ordered the scrumptious chicken souvlaki sandwiches on whole wheat pita that came with a tray of yummy sautéed onions & tzatziki sauce. Just prior to arriving, we went for a hike at Sagamore & were famished. Our sandwiches were generously filled, tasted amazing & were quickly devoured, leaving our bellies more than content! We ordered delicious baklava for desert. The prices were most reasonable too!
My husband, daughter & I returned for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were given the warmest & friendliest greeting by Nick who remembered our names and my in-laws’ favorite flounder dish. He was well dressed, most personable, welcoming and treated us like family.
Margaret, our very pleasant & friendly server was well dressed, neat & professional. She allowed us to sit at any table we preferred. Although the restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, Margaret was an excellent multitasker with an outstanding memory, was most attentive to our needs & requests and most knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We were served quickly. My husband ordered the lamb gyro sandwich and my daughter & I ordered chicken souvlaki sandwiches which were generously stuffed and tasted outstanding! We ordered 2 baklava for dessert which were exceptional! Although we could have split one slice, we devoured both since they tasted so incredible! A shout out to our awesome server, Nico! He was friendly, most attentive to my daughter & I, took our orders & served our delicious chicken souvlaki sandwiches immediately when we had dinner there on 11/18/21. I didn’t even have to request extra water or napkins. That’s impressive!

Read moreI recently ordered a Greek salad online from this restaurant and customized it by adding Gyro that was listed under grilled chicken thinking it was chicken gyro as it does not specify. When I picked up my order, I was shocked to find lamb on my salad instead. The receipt said "gyro," which I assumed meant gyro chicken or grilled chicken as I specified grilled chicken online. I called back to inform them of the mistake, and the customer service was extremely poor. When I went back to get a new salad, they took the salad with the lamb, picked the lamb off, and put chicken on it. This is absolutely disgusting and a clear case of cross-contamination. The lamb had already been sitting on the toppings of the salad, and they just put it on a plate to the side as if they were planning to serve it to someone else. This is a blatant violation of health codes, and they could have easily made a fresh salad. I am absolutely disgusted and will never be returning to...
