Stopped here on a whim and ordered falafel, two rice platters (chicken & lamb) and two variety sample desserts for takeout. The falafel were dense, flat, hard discs that were coated yogurt sauce. Perhaps they dipped them because it was take out? But the choice was odd as they were so dry I would have preferred something extra to dip them in. They were under seasoned as well, I ate one then moved on to my chicken. Unfortunately, I have no idea how the chicken entree was as my first forkful came with a long hair trailing after, threaded throughout my food. I threw it out and after inspecting the sweets, ate those. They were just OK. My husband had the lamb and found it a bit dry but overall was happy that it didn't have a hair in it. I did call them to tell them about the long hair. I was put off at first as the phone was answered with a simple "hello?" I inquired if I had the right number for the restaurant and she said "sure." I told her about the hair and she replied "oh, sometimes we wear hats." I told her a hair net would be better. She said I could place a new order but I told her I was not driving all the way back there. I have no idea if they planned on charging me for a replacement meal but I was not interested in eating anything else from there anyway. A waste of money but a lesson learned, random stops for dinner are almost never...

Owner was teaching her husband/partner and daughter. I ordered a cheese steak and a cheese burger. NO ONE is wearing gloves. She grabs the patty with her hands right after she collected money from customer. She asks if I want cheese on the burger, I say yes so she tells her husband to get cheese... With bare hands he grabs the cheese and passes it to the wife (again with no gloves). I told her earlier everything on both yet she asks me "Tomato? Onions? Lettuce?" I answer yes to all. All the vegetables she handles she never wore gloves. The husband attempts to turn off the grill and turns all he stove dials to HIGH. The wife tells him to turn it the other way which he does. This is the type of people that are cooking your food.
The burger was dry rubber. The cheese steak was awful.
The previous workers were amazing but the establishment has new management which they do not wear gloves after touching money and cash register and will touch your food...
Read moreI ordered the chicken over rice from Shah’s Halal in Huntington Village, and the food was great—fresh, flavorful, and a good portion for the price. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the white sauce pulled everything together.
Unfortunately, the experience was knocked down a notch because the soda they sold me was expired (dated January 6, 2025) and completely flat. I took one sip and ended up tossing it—definitely not what you'd expect when you're paying for a drink. It's frustrating and makes me question how carefully they check their stock.
The staff was friendly, and the place was clean, but they really needed to keep a better eye on expiration dates. I’d still come back for the food, but I’ll skip the...
