This is a fantastic family owned restaurant! They have a sister location in North Tonawanda called, Athenas also. My family and I were recently banned from Athenas because our favorite waitress was having a bad day and we told her the ice cream in our ice cream sundae tasted freezer burnt just so they know, but she became unglued and screamed at us, called the cops and banned us right in front of all the other patrons. That restaurant was the place I've been going to all 30 years of my life and for years would go every single Friday for their fantastic fish fry, and was the last place still open I ate with my grandparents for years before they passed. So being banned broke my entire family's heart, especially over simply making a comment that we thought would help their business. I used to recommend everyone to go there that came into my very busy and well known Niagara Falls hospitality job also. But now I recommend Kalamata! They have a lot of the same food and we've never had a problem there! Absolutely LOVE Kalamata and we visit every time we go to Lockport! In fact it was the first place my autistic brother ate pasta with sauce for the first time, so making new great memories here! I posted a picture of their cannoli French toast here, it...
Read moreEdited to add my most recent experience: Met a friend for lunch, she chose to meet here (not my choice). Food was edible, but not very good. Server was nice, fast, pleasant, & accurate. The ambiance here is definitely not for me. Next time someone requests to meet here, I'll unfortunately have to suggest another place. I felt like money was wasted here both times- not worth it. In my opinion, everyone deserves a second shot, not a third.
Food was good. Workers in the kitchen were not wearing gloves or hair nets, they all had atrocious beards. That was a big turn-off. You can only see the back of the house when the door swings open. There is no window to see your food being cooked like most other restaurants. We arrived about 10:50am, we were seated around 11:10am, our food arrived around 11:40am. We ordered three breakfasts and one lunch. Wait time was a bit long (for a table, and food). They won't let four people sit in a booth that's in a corner because they are reserved for 5 or more. Be prepared to wait. Staff is usually not friendly, today we had an alright experience with...
Read moreBeen going there for years. We love the variety of foods, the staff and up until our last visit everything about th place. However our visit Tuesday late afternoon, February 18th was not good at all. I ordered the turkey dinner and my spouse ordered Greek chicken salad. The plate looked fantastic and was a ton of food. As I start to eat, the corn had a funky taste. I waited till the he waitress came by to ask how things were and I asked her how they cook their corn. So they add something I asked? It has a weird taste. She said she'll ask th kitchen. When she came back she had a fresh bowl of corn fo me and stated "Th cook said it taste funny because it's old, here some new corn". Wait what?? You know you're serving old food? Wrong freakin answer for someone who's already eating their turkey dinner. The greens in my spouses salad also old and turning brown. At that point we said nothing about the salad. Why on earth Kalamata, would you do that? We loved that place!! So...
