Tater Cakes Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Lockport

Tater Cakes is a phenomenal experience. I know everyone says that their local bakery is the best and blah blah blah. I drive 21 miles each way to come to this place. It is literally that good and worth the trip.

Lets start with the rye bread. This is a very dense loaf. Heavy delicious rye. Seeded and non available. This bread toasts up something special. Fills your whole kitchen with a heavenly smell. Made a Ruben with this rye once and thought I died.

The cupcakes are my wife's favourite. Super fluffy and with the perfect level of icing and toppings. They have a really good variety of flavours. We scooped up snickerdoodle cupcakes today. They were outrageous.

If almond is your game, the almond bear claw is perfection incarnate. Flakey melty soft buttery almondy perfect.

Saturday Only they make bagels. The bagels are literally the best damn thing I've ever had from a bakery. In the attached photo is the cheddar bagel. The crispy shell and tender inside toasted spectacularly. My brekky Sambo game stepped up a level with this.

By far the best French macaron I’ve ever had. From the color to the flavors and the texture OMGOOSH!!!! The texture is to die for. Let’s start from the beginning. I’ve been searching for the past two weeks for a good macaron I’ve tried good ones I’ve tried OK ones I’ve tried disgusting ones but my biggest challenge was finding them in general. I reached out to tater cakes after my post lady had said to try them. Spoke with the owner Monday morning and told her that I was having trouble finding really good French Macarons. Told me that she would have them available on Wednesday(today is Wednesday) Not only did she deliver what she had promised she delivered one of the best things that I have ever put in my mouth. We have gotten every one of our kid’s birthday cakes at Tater Cakes this year. Every cake was beautifully done and tasted absolutely delicious. We have gotten the white almond with raspberry filling and the white almond with chocolate filling. Both were top notch. The frosting is so delicious as well. The pricing is comparable and not over the top like some other bakeries. I highly recommend Tater Cakes for any event or celebration you may have or if you just need a little sweet in your life!
