Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of New Hartford

Yesterday my bf and I went to the new Hartford location and were sat immediately. I told my bf I was going to wash my hands and The bathroom smelled as though something had died in it. After I left the bathroom, I was walking back to my table and a server with blonde hair said she would be right over. After waiting about 10 minutes, we flagged down the server who originally sat us and asked if someone please take our order the other server quickly took our order and said she would put it in for a server. Our food comes over from another server this one being very pregnant and very cheerful and pleasant in places are food in front of us asking if there’s anything else we need we say no and we go about eating our meal. The server that was supposed to be our server and made us wait forever. I think our servers name Desiree or destiny or something like that…. Finally comes over to check on us and see if we want to place another order for the 15.99 all you can eat deal they had going on. Now my boyfriend has some memory issues and takes a little bit to process things and to remember what he wants the server got very annoyed by his lack of remembering what he wanted her tone was I can come back in a few minutes when you’re ready to do place another order. I said no just give him a second…. Then he tells her he wants the chicken and I choose the shrimp. So while we’re waiting for our food to come our server that sat us, I think her name is Heather? Came over and chitchatted tell me about the rock and Pop and Shirley Temple I had ordered and some other little chitchat. In the meantime once again the pregnant server brings us our food and our drinks. So we finish and we ask for a check and I think her name is Desiree as I mentioned takes my debit card for over seven minutes and walks around the restaurant with our debit card in her hand and I watched her walking to the back into the kitchen this makes me very uncomfortable because why did she need to do that when the key asked to pay is out by the bar. For all I know she took a picture of my debit card. I asked the new hostess cause they had switched shifts while we were there where the server had gone with my debit card. She said oh I don’t know and I said well can you go find out and she came back with my Debit card and said I’m really sorry about that. It was in her pocket. In the meantime, I found the pregnant server and I gave her a $10 tip and I looked for Heather, to give her $10 tip also for their exceptional service however, Heather had gone home so I left that tip with the other server for her to...

I was astonished by the service we received at this location. Coming from the south all the Applebee's the staff was so pleasant, the service was excellent & the food was great. My mom ordered onion rings with her meal in lieu of french fries. The wait time for our food was over 30 minutes. There were folks that were seated after us that ordered, ate & left the restaurant before we received our meal. We asked the waitress if our order was even submitted, she pulled it up on our the mini computer on the table & was very smug on her response saying it's only been 20 minutes. When the food finally arrived my mom received French fries instead of the onion rings. We asked the waitress if she can get this fixed. She replies "Oh, my bad" & leaves. Approximately 10 -15 minutes later comes back to the table to tell us her shift has ended & the replacement was another waitress. We told her we haven't received the onion rings yet, she replies they are still being cooked & the other waitress will bring them. By the time the other waitress brought them to us, we were full & asked if she could bring us a box. She comes back with a small box, that can barely fit a sandwich. We looked at the food, then at the waitress asking can you bring us a bigger box. She asked what size would we like, again we looked at her & stated one that will fit the barely eaten club sandwich and her onion rings. She brought back another small box. If that wasn't bad enough upon exiting the restaurant; we saw our previous waitress talking with the hostess telling her she is an excellent waitress. I nearly gasped when I heard her say that & almost spoke up. It wasn't worth the effort for me as my mom & I won't be back. I just feel bad for the folks who will get her...

Party of 3, waited only a couple minutes to be seated, but we were not addressed by a server for 15 minutes. During this 15 min period, we heard our server at another table apologizing to folks that had their food but no drinks, server said “oh yea, I forgot your drinks didn’t I?” She stopped at us after that, we told her we would give her the whole order to save her a trip, so app first, mozz stx & spin dip, she came back with drinks 5 minutes later, water and milk. Waited 15 minutes more and watched her put our apps on another table, then leave, she went back to the other table-guys says “we didn’t order this.” She grabs our food, goes to kitchen. We are noticing this server ends up out of sight most of the time we are there, she has us and two other tables. (People next to us have their empty soup bowls that have been sitting next to them this entire time and they don’t look happy.) 5 minutes later our apps come, spin dip crusted over due to sitting a while, mozz stx warm, not hot, one share plate and no silverware . Smh. Food arrived looking good, tasted good too- but almost 40 minutes to get chicken sandwich, tenders & impossible burger. When we asked for box and check, noticed another table had sat and they got food and had no drinks, we heard our server say once more” oh I forgot your drinks didn’t I?!” When our check arrived, server did not even address us she threw it on the one empty share plate sitting there that we didn’t bother to use- and was yelling across the room to someone. Not a good experience for me and my family. I’ve worked in the service industry most of my life, everyone has a bad day, but this was not an average “ bad day”, seemed like lack of character, integrity, and training. Last trip to...
