Elevated to a whole new level; crispy peasant bread toast, thinly sliced fresh green avocado topped with arugula dressed in vinaigrette and impossibly perfect fried eggs with brown crunchy bottoms and creamy yolks. All this on a shaded patio surrounded by wildly growing potted plants. Top it off with a delicious iced latte and you’ve got yourself a relaxing morning. This is the cafe of my dreams. The drinks are creative and amazingly made with care, the baristas are so kind and helpful, and the rotation of events always has something fun and new in store for me to connect to my community and explore new skills!!! (Plus when they have food specials, wow, that chef is talented!!!) You can tell the owners really care about their staff and community and it brings hope to my life to be able to go to a wonderful place with wonderful humans. My wife and I (and our pup Penny) had the pleasure of spending a few days in New Paltz, and The Gunks Gaming Guild & Cafe was definitely a highlight. The owners Rob and Amanda were very welcoming and brought out their dog Ollie to socialize with our Penny. Super cozy place for anyone looking to play games or to get some work done. Employees are very nice and they provide a lot of vegetarian options both in baked goods and meals. I recommend the mocha, the mead, and recently had their bacon breakfast burrito and loved it.
