Los Jalapeños New Paltz — Restaurant in Town of New Paltz

Not sure what they did here, but it’s not good. Menus were new but didn’t think anything of it. We were there tonight and ordered most of our usuals with the exception of one or two things. As soon as they start bringing out the food, my first words were “the ground beef looks so different. Did you change the menu”? I didn’t get a reply. Mahi-mahi tacos have absolutely zero taste and just had like a frozen feel (taste wise) My son ordered Carnitas, but it looked like chicken, again the ground beef looks like nothing It’s ever appeared as before. Sloppy Joe is the only thing I can compare it to. My son ordered Caesar salad with shrimp, lacked flavor and whatever I guess there’s only so much you could do with that but my friend who ordered the enchiladas and usually loves them literally took two bites and didn’t even take it home with him. Everyone’s belly hurt on the way home and the kids were starving so they almost finished their plates and said between the frozen food type taste that it left in their mouth and their belly aches, They never want to go back. So very disappointed, and when we said something, they only offered a free dessert. I wish restaurants would say or notify on the menu when everything has changed. We won’t be back. Presentation is updated and a bit fancier , but every single thing that came out looked nothing like it has ever been for the past 10 years. I’ve been going there. Sadly, I have to give this restuarant zero stars. The food looked great but the disorganization of the restaurant and staff doesn't make up for it. We were seated at the restaurant after a 15 minute wait. We orderd our food quickly including a kids meal as we had about 1.5 hours before we had to leave to put our 2 year old to bed at a decent hour. Our daughter received her food timely but my husband and my meal never came. We waited over an hour and were kept being told it will be right out. After 1 hour and 15 min we decided we had to leave as clearly our food wasn't coming. People that came after us with a larger party received their food before we did. We asked for our check again they were like the food will be right out. I asked for it to be wrapped up as we needed to pay and leave, thats when the server admitted the food would be another 20 min at least. Im sorry but to wait 1.5 hours and not receive any food is ridiculous. No one once came over and aplogized even after we were looking to leave. Actually while we were sitting and waiting multiple times people came over and asked how our meal was??? A meal we never received. I used to love this place!! Last time I went the girl working got busy and literally NEVER came over to us. I am a waitress and even when it’s busy you can find time to deliver menus and waters and chips instead of making margaritas! It was so unprofessional. So we waited and got a boy server who’s I’ve literally never seen. So me and my boyfriend ordered the guacamole appetizer, and 2 fajitas. He gives us the guacamole and you could tell her didn’t know what he was doing — but there was lots of other people working so idk why he didn’t ask for help!!
