so i'm not one to complaint about little things, or even big things but this is just the worst thing, I went to Cuddys on Saturday night to celebrate my friends birthday party, I was denied access because I was wearing camo pants, I shouwed them my ID and told them I was a veteran and this is just something im used to wearing and they said no, so my friends went in and I went to see another friend at a different bar, eventho the bouncers recognized me they told me camo pants are not allowed, but people in tank tops were. toward the end of the night I went back to cuddys to see my friends again, I was once again denied access and had to sit on the sidewalk while my friends came out, when it was about 20 minutes to close the bouncer mockingly said you can go in now until we close, and I told him not because my friends were about to come out, and then one of them told me I should of told them I was a veteran and they would of let me in anyways. so after I told them I was a combat war veteran they told me no ands then I was mocked and told I could go in for the last two hours when there was 20 minutes left until they closed, then they told me to leave the sidewalk and walk away from there, which I did once my friends came back out. I wouldn't of been as upset if I wasn't mocked by the bouncers who in their own words said "i know you and I know your a veteran but you cant come in" I go there all the time but I think its time to find somewhere more...
Read moreOverpriced, over-rated, and underwhelming.
Price: The menu shown by gMaps is correct. Sadly, we found the place thru AAdvantage Dining, which displays an out-of-date menu with noticably lower pricing.
Rating: Let's face it, ratings depend on the food, the service, and the value for the money. Hamburger: a double small-patty rather than a single large one, cooked grey (with single-patty thickness, it's hard to cook it any other way). Fries: reasonable amount, but overcooked to crispness. Maybe they wanted them that way, but I didn't. Pickle spear: I've had better. Ketchup: two bottles of Heinz on the table: one started empty and the other was empty as the meal ended. Service: friendly enough, if you don't mind college-student multi-tasking attentiveness. Fast enough, and didn't ask how my meal was when my mouth was full. Then again, didn't come to ask, at all. Seemed to expect cash for payment; was somewhat befuddled when I offered a credit card. Oops. Value for the money: Both burger and fries are better at Fuddrucker's. And they offer a fixin's bar...for about the same money.
Ambiance: Well, McGillicuddy's wins here. They are exactly what they promise to be, and good at it: a wood-paneled, sports bar and student hangout ideally...
Read moreIt can get a bit overcrowded with a fairly young, collegic crowd after 9pm on a Friday night which isn't necessarily a negative thing if you're going for a party, and only to the bar. However if you are going for a late dinner with old friends, it can feel a bit claustrophobic and very loud as midnight approaches. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the menu has a great variety. They're famous for the chicken wings and the variety of sauces and styles. Ultimately, if the restaurant is offering the full dinner menu until midnight, and a "bar menu" for after hours, it was expected and would've been preferable to be accommodated accordingly and keep those who are still dining out seated a more isolated section, respectively. It was disappointing to hear that when our friend (within our dining party and are all thirty something) excused himself for a smoking break outside between courses, was stopped, frisked and patted down and charged a "cover fee" by the bouncers upon returning to the table. It seemed it was under their assumption that he not within our dining party and was just arriving for the night for drinks at which point in time many people were pouring into the building for...
