Homemade Taqueria Great Neck — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Legit Mexican spot in Great Neck? And the food is great? Am I dreaming????

We've gotten food from here 3x, I've tried all the non-fish meats in various forms, mostly tacos. Today I tried the birria + consomme and I finally get the hype, though I can't imagine ordering it for takeout (it's messy, but that's kind of part of the deal). Red and Green salsas are good, I don't love the guacamole sauce but it's whatever. Burritos come with what tastes like a tomatillo salsa.

Fridays at primetime can be a little rough if they get a ton of orders in at once but they'll call you to tell you your order is ready if it isn't when you get there. I can't really ding them for that though.

Food is good, price is right, and now I don't have to drive to Queens...

I have been here a few times for the past two years and loved this cute Mexican restaurant. We visited again this time and found the food tasted different. The quesadillas was so burn and seems being deep fried. (See the picture) This tasted really awful! We used to love the nochas but this time they were dried and the cheese (was baked too long maybe? then cool down and turn out) so heavy and tasted bad. The combo which has three items . All tasted so different from what's in my memories... Very disappointed.

The staff served us was good.

FYI: you will pay extra 3.99% if pay with credit card. (They said the price showed in menu are cash discounted price ....I understand some restaurants like to put...

As a mexican, these tacos were horrible.They don’t taste “homemade” what so ever. I ordered 3 tacos and what i got was cold tortillas, dry limes, and unseasoned meat. They still had the nerve to charge me $16 for 3 tacos, that’s $5 a taco!!! the food was made with no type of love. I couldn’t even finish my 3 tacos. I’m highly disappointed and will not be getting tacos from there ever again. You’re better off going to taco bell and save your self some money haha.

P.S. My carnitas had bones in them still! the al pastor meat was just sad. They should be ashamed of them selfs hanging that mexican flag and charging...
