Has a cozy locals vibe but I wasnt given a local's welcome. Average diner was over 65 years old. I had a group of 6 for brunch on weekday at 12pm. It was rather busy and the wait was longer than expected. I was told 15 mins wait and that it was always busy. Not the friendliest greeting when you have just arrived. The man, who I think was the manager didn't even bother to put my name down---Just walked away. I waited another 5 minutes before a waiter asked for my name so they could put on the waitlist. A few min later a group of 5 showed up and they got the table since my group was not all present. This was particularly annoying since there are only 2 large seating areas. Finally seated after about 20 mins. Food was mediocre. My mom had the falafel lunch special which was dry as cardboard and was served with flavorless tahini. Dad got a sad looking pastrami sandwich. The corned beef hash and eggs I got was just mediocre. My kids were happy with their breakfast order of french toast. But we will definitely not be returning. The rest of our experience with the staff was good but food was not good enough to return and manager's attitude...

It's been 15 years since I moved from Great Neck. I have fond memories of this diner.s predecessor, Fredricks. Given my sense of loss because of nostalgia, I wasn't expecting anything special.

I mean New York City and Long Island might just be the diner capital of the world. The competition is fierce.

When I walked in, I was seated immediately, given a menu and asked if I wanted coffee. It was breakfast. The eggs I ordered were cooked the way I asked, I received 4 slices of bacon, home fries and toast. The waitress was friendly. The place was clean.

What else could I ask for? Now, breakfast is an uncomplicated meal. Unless you're at an upscale restaurant, diner breakfast food is more or less the same. The differences between diners is usually the service, the portion size, the price!vakue of the mealand how the place is decorated.

This diner shines on everything but it's decorations. It's a typical "small town" looking diner. Frankly, I prefer the old style look. I don't like snooty diner "palaces". You may disagree, but if you don't go, you'll be missing good food at...

This place is great! My daughter and I come here every Thursday for "Daddy daughter breakfast". They are always welcoming and act like you are part of their family. They always say hi to my daughter and she loves coming there to say hi to all her friends. Giovanni always brings me coffee and water right away as well as milk and water for my daughter. He is always very attentive and fantastic. Our waitress is usually Laura, and she is always talking/playing with my daughter and fantastic as well. We have had other servers at different times, and they have been just as good. Not only is the service great, but the food is equally as good. I haven't had a bad meal here once (mostly go for breakfast and sometimes lunch). I lived in NJ (mecca of diners) most of my life, and this diner is just as good as some of the best diners there. Their prices are very reasonable and the food comes out quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. ...

Came here for the first time and I was not disappointed. The entire menu selection is quite large, but their burger selection certainly stands out. They have crab cake burgers, turkey burgers and many other types of burgers, so everyone has something to try. I ended up going for the GND burger, which has grilled onions, chipotle Mayo and cheddar. The burger tasted great and I was pleasantly surprised at how well put-together the whole thing was. It didn’t feel like individual components put together, but a cohesive burger that tasted just wonderful. I do have minor complaints, such as my burger being medium rare when I ordered it medium, and some mushrooms being in my burger, but those things happen. The atmosphere is nice, too. It has a typical diner feel, with some aptly themed decor. The service was great, with the waiter joking around and my water cup was never empty. Overall, a great experience that surprised me and I definitely recommend this diner.

1- Food = 2.5/5. Average. Breakfast was very average. Pancakes were flavorless and their homemade corn-beef hash was definitely a disappointment. 2- Service = 3/5. Average. Service was good up until the point wear we ordered eggs over well and it came back over easy. Not a problem because we never complain but the waitress noticed, mentioned it under her breath and didn’t fix the issue. 3- Ambiance = 3/5 Average. Inside and out nothing special. 4- Reservations = 5/5. None needed but expect to wait a bit on the weekends because this seems to be the only diner in the area. 5- Value = 2/5. Below Average. Not realizing this was a good part of Long Island we expected more from this local diner. Will not recommend and if I’m in this area again I will try a different place.

This hands down the best diner in Great Neck! I had an amazing breakfast here—chocolate chip pancakes that were fluffy and loaded with chocolatey goodness, perfectly crispy bacon, and eggs cooked just the way I like. The sausage was flavorful, and the rye bread was fresh and delicious. The unlimited coffee kept coming, which was perfect to pair with the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection, and I couldn’t ask for a better breakfast spread. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a classic diner with great food and friendly service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back soon!
