This is honestly one of the best restaurants around. The atmosphere is very laid back and the prices are extremely fair for a seafood restaurant. Love the fact they use all locally sourced fish and shellfish. My GF and I shared a meal here on a Saturday. First we were greeted by their attentive servers and staff. The server who was lovely recommended an amazing Chardonnay from Sonoma. She was extremely knowledgeable about wine and the menu and kept an eye on us all night which was great
My GF and I shared a half dozen oysters which were great. Half of them were from Canada and half were from Blue Point, Long Island. We appreciated having a choice in the matter. We also shared the grilled sardines which were to die for and honestly the best thing I had. My GF got the Branzino which was perfect and like butter but they made a mistake in making into a filet but it was honestly too tasty for us to actually care. I had a Connecticut Lobster Roll and was delicious. Also appreciated the fact I had the option to get a Maine style with the cold lobster as well. They also have such a generous portion of fries which was awesome!
Lastly we both shared the lava cake which was a bit expensive but was absolutely delicious. This place is an absolute gem and it was totally worth the trip from...
Read moreFull Discretion, This is family, but that doesn't mean what I'm about to say is an exaggeration... All my posts and ratings are spot on and this won't be any different... As always 5 means 4.5 and this place, although new, is just that. I've eaten here about 6 or 7 times since the opening and this is my first post. The menu is "small" yet full of great options. The must tries are the Super Fresh Rustic Tomato Salad, Beet Salad, Crab cake, Popcorn Shrimp, Fish Soup for Starters(Small Plates)... Lobster Roll (Connecticut Style) for sharing or Entree, Any of the Whole fis, Lobster Pasta and surprisingly the Skirt Steak, which was actually my first Entree I ordered on my first visit. Steamed spinach and Green beans are the go to sides for entrees. Lastly, you'll be asked ahead if you want to order the Chocolate Lava Cake or the Vanilla Custard Pastry(Bougatsa) and the answer should be yes, always Lol. The Lava Cake is for one 😋 MAYBE two if your feeling generous and the Incredible "Bougatsa" is for up to 4 but doesn't have to be... You'll find a small but satisfying cocktail, wine and beer list as well. It's great to have a casual seafood place to go to finally, in my area, that can hold its own with the formal...
Read moreParty of 4 to celebrate a birthday. Poorly staffed (seemed like they had enough staff but one waitress working and 2 others just standing around)- waited over 20 minutes before I had to flag down a server to please take our drink order. Seafood Plateau was a big disappointment; first they "forgot" to add the shrimp: the crawfish were frozen; and the mussels and oysters and crab claws were definitely not fresh - had to again flag down a server to point out the frozen crawfish and missing shrimp. Would have also ordered a second round of drinks (and perhaps a third) but again, no server check in. The clams and lobster were good. The shrimp was good when finally brought over but were not jumbo as stated. The main courses were good but served unevenly (10 minutes between first and last entrée being served. Main courses were good (pasta was a little over cooked) and servings were on the small size. Lava cake was very good and they added a candle and sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. (if smart management would have comped the cake based on all the issues we had). Total check was around $300 with tip- disappointed but may give them another try based on other reviews. Would skip seafood plateau and stick...
