Loco | Best Mexican Restaurant in Port Washington — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I have been here twice, both with very different experiences. My first occasion there was a Taco Tuesday special. They let us sit on the deck, we had a beautiful view and the service was very good. We walked away and told a bunch of friends they have to come.

We came back two months later to a completely different situation. There was no Taco Tuesday special, I was told it was no longer a thing. We did request to sit outside but were told that we had to sit on the main floor, not a huge deal but I was with a toddler that is loud and also not vaccinated.

On this second visit, despite being one of three seated tables, the service was very slow. Drinks took 10 minutes. Other guests came in after and were served food and drinks before we were. The food was still good. It is a bit on the pricier side but notion egregious.

Excellent! We were curious of the Mexican/Indian menus here. We were not disappointed. First started with the salsa and chips. Salsa is delicious with a smokey flavor. My husband had the chicken tikka enchilada and I had the steak iron plate with tortillas. Dessert was an elegant tres leches cake. All enjoyed with a lovely Malbec wine. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful experience at LOCO. Extensive menu, with something for everyone to try. Food was delicious, packed with great flavors and generous spice, something only talented chefs are good at. This is not your average to go dine in spot. Along with the Mexican menu, is an addon Indo-Mexican fusion with an Indian touch, that got my attention. Very spacious, clean, and friendly staff.
