Two years later, we sure miss our sweet girls that used to work there the blonde girl is pleasant. The other girl just looks like she’d rather be in bed or not even alived. No smile absolutely miserable nasty attitude both times I’ve been in there and I will be back. I think 100 bucks and two visits is all I’ll do. Thanks!! Every in business is all my life. I am now 41 if you don’t like your job, get a new one if you can’t fake being pleasant why would you hire? And it wasn’t just this time me confused about the taxes. It was the very first time too just energetically miserable zero customer service skills zero personality zero to the point where I will never walk back in there again plus the ceiling makes me dizzy. Blesss I keep forgetting there’s a coffee shop down the road. It’s unfortunate since I like the baked goods, but I’m not gonna deal with bad attitudes. And all her little faces she makes to the other one. I don’t know if if she thinks people are dumb, but gotta look in the mirror there, buddy.
have visited here a handful of times while up in my summer home with my little girl. The two young girls are absolutely darling patient, personable and genuinely kind. They definitely probably deserve a raise and all the tips they can get. Rare to see these days. They talked to sweetly to my outgoing daughter and listened to everything she had to say. I imagine the people that are talked about badly in the reviews have been fired and these have been the replacements if so good job customer service is everything without it you don’t have a business.
They have a Lotta good treats I haven’t tried their homemade bread’s but I am sure they are wonderful there broccoli cheddar soup is amazing and I plan to try the chili before I leave the cold. The cream puff wasn’t very tasty or fresh seeming, other than that everything‘s been really good the Russian tea cookies are my favorite coffee as wonderful as well! The...
Read moreHad the customer service been bad this would have gotten a 1 star. This review is not based wholly on the customer service but more rather the pastries that I bought. I've been looking at this bakery for almost two years and the other day I finally went in. It's a cute shop with a lot of things on display. I got a chocolate frosted sprinkled donut for my son, a lemon filled cookie, and six macarons. The donut was alright, a fairly standard cake donut, my son gobbled it up with a happy dance. The lemon filled cookie was the most odd thing I have ever seen, it's folded in half with little to no lemon filling and it was a basic run of the mill sugar cookie. The macarons... I love macarons I make them at home and get them when I see a place to try them. That being said, they were the most stale, awful macarons I have ever had. For $2.75 (before taxes) I was floored. I understand that Cooperstown is a touristy place and prices are higher anyways because macarons are just expensive. Even my worst fails at home were ten times better than these. The vanilla had toasted sesame seeds on them which gave it an odd flavor. The apricot one was probably the best one because it wasn't that stale. The dark chocolate, raspberry, and lemon were all rocks basically. I ended up taking one bite and throwing the rest out. Macarons are supposed to have a crispy outer shell and a chewy interior not breaking teeth. I wanted it so badly to be better because I had been pining to try it. Really...
Read moreBad experience from a resident near Cooperstown. I'm not a visitor. I grew up with excellent cooks and bakeries in the city. My husband bought a bun and I bought a donut. Both were stale as we began to eat them on our way home. One bite was enough for me. The donut was very dry, stale with tuns of powdered sugar on top. Maybe that was to cover the look of the donut hanging around so long. In any case, I called the place up when I got home and asked if I could get something else because my donut was stale. I told the worker I was glad to return the partially eaten donut back. She told me there is a no return policy..??? Is this a final sale for stale donuts? I told her that sounds rediculous. She told me she would have someone else try the donut because they are not stale. I told her she could have my stale donut back. Bottom line, why would I make up a story that my donut was stale? It's not about the cost of the donut. It's being treated poorly if you get a stale item. I am trying to contact the manager who is not in all the time and I will speak with her. However, for people who want to buy baked goods there I say just be careful. There are many decent items like some cookies, cannolis and rolls. The coffee as well is good. Just watch out for the donuts. They are all dressed up on the outside and stale and dry on the inside. I would like to replace my donut for something else at...
