ROWSEELEE Cold Spring — Restaurant in Town of Philipstown

Hi! My dear friend ordered a drink here along with the rest of us but there was something wrong with the way it tasted. The staff there were amazing, sweet and energetic. Unfortunately, the owner was a miss. Prior to ordering we already saw him raising his voice over something related to a menu item. Fair. Second, my friend wanted to see if it was possible to get their drink refunded or exchanged due to the funky taste. A reasonable request for any establishment. My friend had talked with the staff taking orders, and she was really sweet and apologized and offered a refund along with allowing her to pay for a different drink. Perfect! Unfortunately the owner was pissed that they were processing a refund, and the staff was clearly unaware of the refund policies that this owner apparently whipped up right then and there. He was opposed to handing out the refund, and was getting upset at the staff for even OFFERING one in the first place.

I do not blame the staff there. I blame the owner. You need to make your refund policy clear for your staff so EVEN if you dont want to offer any refunds (even if you should) you should make it apparent to your staff. Would be fair! Would be better than having the owner walk up raising his voice and looking at their staff as if they were crazy for even being kind in the first place. He was so aggresive on what he was saying that my friend teared up when she came back to the table to see us.

Unprofessional on his part, and quite frankly an embarrassment. Next time, if this were to happen again, kindly let the refund process, and pull your staff member in the back to remind them of your "policy".

My favorite part about them is how they bring not-too-sweet bubble tea to the area. My wife and I tried their hojicha latte because we’re huge fans of the hojicha flavor profile (Japanese roasted green tea with something of a darker caramel-ish taste). This was pretty good with a tea flavor but the boba consistency seemed a bit older. In our 2nd visit we tried their roasted oolong with boba. I forgot to decrease the sweetness for that but the boba consistency was better. They also use large ice spheres instead of cubes which seem to not water down the drink as quickly.

Other reviewers have commented on how Rowseelee looks, and it’s something like a modern hotel lobby. Their merch shop area is cute, I haven’t seen keychains like the ones they offer.

When we walked in randomly upon seeing their outside sign saying boba/bubble tea, we were surprised by how popular they were. Many folks sitting with laptops and drinks and snacks.

Also a huge line for the restroom but we visited during Columbus weekend. Note that during our 2nd visit we noticed, there is just 1 restroom, not open to public, and interior is also quite nice.

Finally: note that to open their drink top, you pull off the black plastic cap before peeling off the tab. See photo for what’s under the black plastic with QR code.

I’m a big fan of ROWSEELEE after visiting the Mahopac location. I came to Cold Spring just to see if this location lived up to the first experience. The line was pretty long on a Saturday evening, so the wait to order was around 15 minutes. The interior is gorgeous though and the staff was very kind and helpful! I tried the ceremonial matcha latte with oat milk (extra) and boba, and we also got a mango milk tea with boba. It took around 10 minutes for our order to be prepared, see the picture attached! I loved the matcha (the most flavorful and strong matcha I’ve had in a while). Would definitely recommend trying it, it’s worth the price. However, the boba was not up to par, as they were pretty chewy and not as sweet. The mango milk tea was also not as refreshing as it could’ve been, but we appreciated the mango flavor. Would come back to try all the desserts and give it another chance, since it’s definitely...
