I placed an order on the app, using my points for a chicken nugget happy meal. It took my points and got to the point where the order could not be cancelled, but when I arrived, it said the meal was not available at my location. When I asked them to resolve it, I was told that the item cannot be redeemed with points, even though it already took my points. I asked to speak to the manager, who repeated the same, and told me that all I could do is call customer service (which is closed on Sundays). So, now I have lost my points and was tricked into going to their restaurant. This is a classic bait and switch, and although I was frustrated, I was not inappropriate in anyway, but the manager walked away from me, saying he wasn't responsible for McDonald's own app.
Do not go to this location, they are complicit in a scam and do not honor their advertisement. I will be reporting them to the BBB on Monday and then will have to waste my time to get my points back. McDonalds needs to fix their app and hire people who have any customer service sense. I will likely stop going to McDonald's entirely over this experience, as the manager acted like it's somewhat my problem that the app let me place an order (and take the points for it) that they could not fulfill.
Edit: I contacted McDonalds customer service over this, and they were very accommodating, restored my points and sent me some free coupons for the inconvenience. They also put me in touch with the specific restaurant's ownership group, who were equally appalled by the interaction and told me they would make sure that the shift manager was properly dealt with. This has restored my faith in the organization, but I am still reluctant to go to this specific location again. I feel bad for any potential customer who might lose their points and have no other recourse if it happens on a Sunday, like it did in my case. (I did not end up contacting the BBB, as McDonald's corporate and the ownership group agreed that it is a "bait and switch" situation and for whatever it's worth, I was able to use the points a few days later at a different location for the McNugget Happy Meal, which shows me that the shift manager was literally making up redemption rules, so he didn't have to...
Read moreI had DoorDash orders through here all weekend, most went as smooth as could be. However, the final one occurred right about 9pm. When I went to enter the lobby, it was closed, no big deal, to the drive thru I go. This is where issues began. I finally get to window after about 20 minutes and the employee tells me someone else had just taken my order, odd, but another employee steps in and confirms this but offers to remake meal so I give them my phone to re-enter items and they then ask me to pull up to 3rd window. Cool, mistakes are made but it seems they are taking care of it....a good 25 minutes later, another employee comes to the window asking what I was waiting for. I explained situation and they say since someone else picked it up, there is nothing they can do. I had to 'unassign' that run and then deliver food from first part of this order about an hour after I first picked it up. If there is nothing that can be done in such a situation, say so, don't waste an extra half hour of mine and my customers time. This was my first and only experience picking up a DoorDash order via the drive thru and it was disappointing, however, every other order via the lobby has gone very well and the employees have been...
Read moreSimply the best around. Pull up to the first screen and wait for a few minutes impatiently, finally a woman blurts out pull up to the window. As you veer up to the first window in an unorthodox way of ordering fast food you tell the snarky manager what you would like as she jots your order down on a piece of paper. You're skeptical at this point, and she says the computers are down sorry for the inconvenience. You're a nice person, so naturally you respond with it's okay and stay on board. What the fat slob neglects to inform you, is that you will be sitting in your car long enough to burn through three gallons of gas. That you could have drove a half hour home and made a thanksgiving dinner in the amount of time it took for them to make your quarter-pounder with cheese. The worst mcdonalds I have ever been to in my entire life, the computers are conveniently down every single night. As a side note, who trusts a worker at a fast food restaurant to add up your order total and calculate the tax on a piece of paper? In a nutshell, if you enjoy extremely long waits and probably getting overcharged for your cold food it's the...
