seriously not impressed and unsure of what people consider a good burger for a good deal. first i live in rhinebeck and have for 30+yrs with long standing family roots. true story, a friend of mine who is a foodie loves to take me around for food tasting and values my input. we order from this place, couldn't understand our very simple order in clear english. we even politely wrote it down when we were choosing and waited patiently outside. not only were the portions of questionable proportion, our lunch for 3 adults and a baby came in a grease soaked bag of mixed market food that resembled something put together by a kindergartner. we asked for no sauce on one cheese burger, sauce was put on all 3, and one minus the cheese. not sure what it was in the bag to resemble lettuce but it was with scraps of greasy paper and potato pieces in the bottom. i know the amount paid and what it said on the menu was incorrect but i was trying to be polite and hope maybe they were having an off- day? who knows. i might try them again if someone else pays and then edit this review accordingly but for now they may as well know that we were passing wendy's in kingston afterward and my friend has this habit of swinging through the drivethrough for a small soda. so that's what she did and when she asked "want anything, love?" my immediate response was to think, is she serious? we just went to a real burger place and now we're at wendys but the inner hungering goblin in me knows what satisfys best said "yes, please." now i know there's not a lot of science to it and people will argue what is better for my body and what is a fair trade practice and what not... but let me tell you, that
Read moreI have been a big fan for years. I normally would not write a negative review about a local business. But it doesn't feel like a local business anymore. It feels like an attempt to become corporate. And I respect that. But we order from there about half as much as we used to. We used to be able to just call in an order and get a sweet local human being who would take our order. Now they don't take orders by phone. And the online system basically requires you to sign up. I opted out of marketing emails but got two emails asking for feedback on the same day as I signed up. And the feedback link doesn't even work so it's just frustration. They also screwed up the order by putting buns sauce, which is delicious but a little spicy, on the kids burgers. So nobody could eat them. They credited me for them but this is not about money. So now I am leaving the review here. Sorry, but buns has gone from being our go-to place to being our last resort. If you want to eat in, and do all your ordering on a touch screen, I highly recommend it. The food is...
Read moreI wish I got some photos! Arguably THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER EVER HAD! We went to Rhinebeck, NY for the first time ever and visited the towns favorite burger joint. It came highly recommended by my dear friend who is from there. We all met up there together. My daughters got the cheeseburger and hot dog, no toppings, finished every bite. We got a large bucket of those fries for the table, they were so good we almost ordered another bucket we had to stop ourselves from gorging! My husband got the spicy chicken sandwich, and he said the chicken was so nice and tender. The lemon oregano aioli is to die for! The burger portions are perfect which is a thing for tiny mouth gals like myself, i dont usually even order burgers out because theyre always far too big. these were the perfect size and cooked patties. I almost always have leftovers because as i said im small, i ate this meal in its entirety, so it was delicious. Everything was made with local farm fresh ingredients which we love for our little mouths. 10/10 will be going back again...
