We sat down, about 10 minutes later a server came over to take our drink order. We only had sodas, which arrived 10 minutes later. We put in our food order. It wasn't busy. There were a few tables around us, nothing crazy. 25 minutes after putting in our food order, the waitress comes over and says "what did you order?" My wife wanted a BLT w Fries and I ordered the Chicken Parm. w a Salad. After saying our order, again, the waitress says "OK, good, the food will be out quick, quick". 1st off, if you ain't going to remember orders, write them down!!! 2nd, everyone likes getting their food in a timely fashion but I don't want to hear it will be "quick, quick" cuz our BLT and Chick Parm came out 45 minutes later. My wife's BLT had literally 2 pieces of Bacon. My Chick Parm Sandwich w a Salad that i wanted came out w Fries instead. No biggie, we took it as it was. Definitely wasn't the best tasting meal. Maybe they were having an "off day" but everything just seemed so chaotic. We drove from 3.5 hrs away. When in the area again, we will skip this place.

Went to Fosters after walking the town for a bit. We were seated on the outside patio which was a nice spot near the road. We ordered the mozzarella wedges for our appetizer. They were great and well made. But from there is where things went downhill, primarily with the service. My girlfriend and I both ordered burgers as our mains, and when the waitress went to place down my girlfriends plate, the balsamic dressing spilled on my leg through the table(outdoor metal type table). It wasn't such a big deal, as I used my only napkin to wipe myself. The waitress apologized and asked if I wanted more napkins. I said yes. We were not brought any more napkins from that waitress. Actually, we didn't see her for a while towards the end of our meal. I got my napkins from another waitress who happened to see us from a table she was helping. I also asked for ketchup, which I never received as well. All in all, a very weird visit. The food was pretty good, but service really needs to get on top of their game if they want customers to keep coming back.

We arrived around 2 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Our server, Adlai, was amazing, friendly and prompt. It’s got a cool, dark vibe. We had the garden gimlet and a dirty martini and both were tasty and strong. We shared the calamari which were nice and crispy. I had the buffalo chicken soup which was the soup of the day and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the strip steak with mushrooms, which came with mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. I added broiled scallops as well. The scallops were the miss of the meal. They were very white. Usually I imagine them a little browned to up the flavor. The rest of my meal was tasty and the steak was a nice medium rare. My husband’s French dip was delicious. We both had big enough portions to bring some home for a 2nd meal. Will absolutely return.

Needing a quick bite, and just down the street where I was doing a job.. I stopped into Foster's. I hadn't been here in a long time and it didn't seem familiar. As I entered from the street, I saw there specials and decided to order the Slider Special for $8.00

The "front" was quite noisy, so I ask the hostess for a quiet place to sit. It was a nice roomy table. The waitress appeared immediately, I asked for a glass of water and ordered the sliders. She asked me what side I wanted, and I selected potato salad.

She brought the water quickly. The sliders took almost 15 minutes, before they appeared. On the plate with the two sliders was a ice cream scoop of potato salad and an even smaller "size cup" of cold slaw.

The sliders were really well done, and not juicy. They were supposed to be "covered" with melted blue cheese - no where to be found and some type of buffalo sauce, do not know what it was or where it was.... Personally, I never eaten a drier "hamburger" - and by the way; their size was about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter and about 3/8 " thick.

Time was of the essence, two bites and one gone and a few more bites the other gone. At least it tasted like beef.

Then I waited about 10 - 15 minutes till the waitress came back and handed me the check.. for $10.00 I did not have the time to argue, the fact the special sign said $8.00 and the tax should have been 65 cents for a total bill of $8.65

To add insult to injury on the way out, the special was supposed to be served with french fries!

Talk about a place that needs a "Restaurant Stakeout."

It will be quite some time I'll go back, and Yes I inform my Rhinebeck friend to look out and should be reluctant to...

We stopped in on Sunday for lunch after visiting a local college. It started off okay and got progressively worse. We ordered 4 sodas and when they were brought to the table, they were flat. I let the waiter know and he said he would check on it. He came back after a little while and said it was the way it should be. Bad answer. I guess soda is not supposed to be carbonated in Rhinebeck. Quite frankly I don't really think he asked anyone at all. We ordered wings and asked that they be crispy. Nope, not crispy. Strike 2. My chicken parm arrived and the chicken had a very strange texture, like it was made of silicone rubber or something. The meatballs that came with my daughter's spaghetti were not right either. After eating 3 of them, she asked me to try one as they had a strange flavor that she has never tasted before. I tried half of another one and immediately spit it in my napkin as it was spoiled. The strange flavor was rancid meat. After the episode with the soda carbonation, I did not bother to tell anyone but rather do my review here. There are several other places within a short walk of this place and I would highly recommend you go somewhere else. Anywhere else...Too bad, the reviews were radically different than the...

Came here expecting some generally good food and instead got met with an awful server and diner quality food. We order an $11 shrimp cocktail and it came with 4 shrimp laid out on some dirty lettuce with a plastic cup of cocktail sauce. The server came over to us just to ask for food and to bring it to the table, she never asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. They weren't even busy only other people in the "Tavern" interrupted our server asking for our drinks to say he had been waiting 20 minutes and no one came to serve him. We ordered the Rueben's and it was just a blob of pastrami on barely toasted mediocre rye bread with actual diner fries. Had to get the check from the hostess and we asked for the manager who she said was " in a meeting upstairs". She then came back to make sure we wanted to speak to her. The manager came down and proceeded to tell us that's just how it is and you cant find a better price on shrimp anywhere else. When we told her about the bad service she quite literally shrugged it off and said "She's been here many years" like that makes her a good server? Overall just disappointed in seeing what used to be a good restaurant turn into a cheap poorly run "tavern" in the middle...
