We heard about this restaurant opening recently and were excited to try it as there aren't many restaurants that offer a large variety of ramen bowls nearby.
As a short overview I'm pleased to say the restaurant was fantastic, staff was very friendly and accommodating there was a variety of seating which was all very nice and the food was delicious. If you haven't been here before it's worth going.
On a more in-depth note staff was fantastic they were nice and the restaurant has a tablet that you order on that allows you to call staff over if you need help it makes the ordering experience very fluid and quick.
We ordered a beef ramen bowl and a Osaka beef ramen bowl. The noodles were very good the broth tasted nice and paired well with the meals, the beef was good and the eggs and vegetables were perfect.
The portion of food given compared to the price was so generous that to be honest we literally couldn't finish our meals, I felt a bit bad when we told them we weren't taking any with us but it really was delicious.
For anyone coming to this restaurant if you get a ramen bowl I might recommend getting one bowl for a group of two people with a side dish as opposed to two separate ramen bowls, Unless you're absolutely famished it is a sizeable amount of food.
We finished off with strawberry mochi and I must say as someone who enjoys ice cream mochi it was definitely very good and worth trying out if you haven't had any before.
A few other things to touch on quick the drink menu was quite varied and there are lots of choices between soda, wine, sake & teas
The restaurant was very clean, there's a bathroom in the restaurant you can use
The restaurant is very beautiful with art on the walls and ceilings the whole vibe of the restaurant is very refreshing.
And on a final note I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the future if you haven't been here before definitely come give it a try...
Read moreI am going to be brutally honest and keep it real since I was really excited about this place. I have been to many Ramen shops in the states from NY to CA and more than several times in Japan. My expectations were really high, considering the price point of food and appeal of this restaurant. I am not a super expert on Ramen, however, know enough from a foodie standpoint not to be fooled. AND TRUST ME…there are a few places in Long Island that are gimmicks! Here is my review of Takkii Ramen in Riverhead, focusing on primarily the poor service experience in my visit and low-quality Ramen: Disappointing experience at Takkii Ramen. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food was unfortunately subpar. The broth lacked flavor, and the noodles were overcooked. This is a big thing in ANY real Ramen shop. Any good REAL ramen shop would go above & beyond to never serve you overcooked noodles. Soggy ramen noodles can definitely ruin the dish. Ideally, ramen noodles should be springy and have a slight bite to them. I do know why…look at the picture.
Overall, a let down for the price point. I had other side dishes and they were OK. However, I am convinced that obviously not paying for quality or taste here.…the consumer is paying for the experience & opportunity for social media post! I would definitely skip this place for good Ramen. The appeal & ambience is attractive…if you’re an influencer or social media person - then you are the target audience! I am pretty sure this place would do good, as there are few that would know...
Read moreFinally!!! Good ramen that doesn’t require me to drive out to Queens! The place itself is super cozy and authentic; there are booths deeper in the restaurant, or you can grab a stool at the bar itself or at the seats looking out to the street to people watch.
I love the fact that everything is done on an iPad for ordering. Means I can easily customize what my ramen, or my drinks, or even call over the server when I was ready to check out. I did the simple sukiyaki udon but added an egg. The portions are HUGE and super well prepared. The egg was a perfect soft boiled and the tofu was not overcooked/gummy like some other ramen places I’ve gone to.
Cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu (and as someone allergic to pork, the variety of broths is amazing!). The menu itself has sooo many things I’d like to try, and they have takoyaki!!! Something I haven’t seen on a menu anywhere in a long time!
I did order a Sapporo draft while I was there, but they didn’t have taps installed yet (but they were going in the next month), so I was helpfully offered the canned version with a chilled glass. After a long day of yard work, a huge bowl of hot ramen and a big glass of cold beer was amazing.
Parking is a little weird, because it is Main Street, but there is a municipal lot right next to Griffing Hardware that usually has spaces. A little bit of a walk, but, again, having a great ramen place locally is worth a little bit...
