Barnstone Grill — Restaurant in Town of Rye

Happy the new owners finally opened their own restaurant! 🎉 Sending congratulations to them!

First, I want to share the ambience of the restaurant is great! Beautiful new barn style doors by the bar. The team got together and did renovations I heard, which is really sweet how the team came together to make it happen!

Next, please understand this is no longer Sedona Taphouse. Sedona is its own franchise. From what I understand, the owners looked to own a restaurant on their own to give them more opportunity to run it how they wish and giving them more creative freedom. Don’t quote me, but they would not be allowed to “steal” menu items from the previous Sedona but rather will have their own flare. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was great! We started with a pear salad (not pictured because I had to eat before my phone did 🤣) , for my entree got the salmon with chimichurri sauce, and a side of mashed sweet potato (OMG what a treat!) For dessert, we tried the coconut sundae and a brownie sundae - terrific way to finish the meal!

I’m excited to see this business flourish! Definitely recommend!

P.S.- My suggestion would be, this is specifically for those who’s expectations aren’t set, if you have criticisms please go to the owners personally. Chef/Owner, Bill with his team gave my family a great dining experience on a packed Monday night! The host ran to open the front door as we were entering with our baby in his stroller. The dining room had a great vibe with happy guests all around us. We got the delicious nachos to start, which was loaded with melted cheese, cheese sauce, pico, guacamole, sour cream and a super savory beef chili. The three of us were satisfied after that, but then our entrees came out. My wife was impressed with the steak special, served with their garlic mashed potatoes and a great sear on the outside, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My Mother was very happy with her grilled salmon, cooked to her liking, also served with the decadent garlic mashed potatoes. I'm a Chef, who was craving a burger earlier that day, so I decided to order one. I was thrilled with my decision. To impress a Chef with a burger, that means your doing something right! It had that beefy flavor that I wanted, with a smokey flavor from the grill. It was balanced with the right amount of bread and toppings super simple, but just what I needed to go meet the man, Bill. We recently had dinner here and the service and atmosphere were great. The burgers were cooked medium/medium rare like we requested. The crab cake entree was very flavorful - but TBH there should be more than two crab cakes for an entree. It would be great if the current tap beer list was at the table so customers can look at it and the server doesn't have to spend time going through it. The french fries were a little bland and could use some salt. Charging for ice in scotch is an issue - I'd prefer if they charge an extra dollar or two for the drink - but don't charge extra for ice. As a Mamaroneck resident I hope Barnstone Grill does well - I think they have a little fine-tuning to do but I'd love to come back with a five star review...
