After seeing some less than stellar reviews here, I being a very frequent shopper at the Commack location feel compelled to leave a very honest and very positive review!
Right off the bat, parking is easy with large spots and ample availability. The shopping carts are clean and are in perfect condition, and the store itself is clean, and well organized.
As far as the staff, I have had countless positive experiences, starting with Grace at the deli counter, she's a sweetheart! All the customers love her, she's a real people person while being fast and efficient. The manager of the tire department, absolute aces! After getting a great deal on a set of tires, with super fast installation, he is helping me resolve a tire sensor issue that is beyond their responsibility, again just nice quality people! The store manager works his but off! I constantly see him out on the floor, on top of his employees, not only giving them clear direction, but he's quick to lend them a hand. Definitely a do as I do type leader that keeps everything running smoothly, while treating his staff with kindness & respect.
The Commack location doesn't offer the widest selection of products (compared to other nearby BJ's) and they don't currently have gasoline, but it is still my absolute favorite Big Box store (Sorry Costco).
p.s. my wife love shopping there too (but that's...
Read moreI go to Costco normally...but I received a deal on the BJ's card. This is the only location I have been in and it is terrible. Several sections were closed off...staff is one of the rudest staff I have dealt with....customer service people have an attitude and when I had a return they kept asking questions about why I wanted to return the item and complained it was used. Of course I used it, how else am I supposed to know if something will work well or not without using it?
Cashiers are the slowest I have ever seen. Go to Costco and the cashiers are fast and usually have a helper, sometimes they don't but they are sharp and fast. Cashiers here are slow and spend more time chatting than ringing up product.
The frozen section is good, the deli meat counter is a nice touch, and the meat section itself is not bad. But overall the pricing is no where near Costco's pricing. Costco has way better pricing on similar items. But BJ's does have a decent frozen section and I found some good stuff I would never find in Costco.
Still, I would recommend any Costco location....preferably Melville and Stonybrook locations. Use BJ's if you get the card for cheap and if they have deals. Otherwise Costco is...
Read moreIf I could give this BJ location a zero-star rating, I definitely would. I do not want to leave bad reviews, but this was just the tip of the iceberg! My mother went to this location about a week ago, and was refused service for "not having a membership and using someone else's", simply because it was on the BJS app. The repugnant gentleman at the register couldn't even look up the account and see that my mother is listed as a member on my account. Instead, he humiliated my mother in front of everyone, making it seem like they were stealing from the club. The manager on duty that night was even worse than this repugnant man! She, too, refused service and made my mother purchase a new membership to check out when it could've been as simple as verifying through her license that the name on the card was hers! Something more profound than just the membership going on at this membership, as everyone else on the line could purchase items with their BJS app, and my mother was refused service! We won't return to this BJS until they get it together and do something about their careless and...
