Lied to us on the phone about reservations and wait list. We drove all the way there to try the place and were told we couldnt even get on the waiist, after having spoken to a hostess who told us to come on down at an agreed upon time.
Defineltly dont patronize this shady establishment
I appreciate you responding, so let me clarify. I had never been there before, although we go to Greenport often to dine. I called your establishement at 145 pm to check the reservation policy. I was told you were all booked up, but as you said above, the woman on the phone suggested to us we come by and see if we could be seated as a walkup if there were cancellations. I told her that was fine and wed be there 230pm to check it out.
We arrived at 230 sharp to a young man who told us there was NO CHANCE of being seated, all the reservations and the WAITING LIST of walkups was full.
He told us we MAY be able to get on the cancellation wait list at 445pm, 2 hours and 15 minutes later.
I understand your explanation clearly, but seems to me the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing over there. So getting 2 different stories in such a short time is SHADY. the woman on the phone should have told us what the young man at the door did, instead of luring us with false expectations.
As for my day, its quite presumtious of you to assume it was anything less than stellar in the first place, let alone that it needed to get better. You might want to focus on yout policies and presentation more than what you think an unknown patrons day was or wasnt like.
There are multiple restaurants that serve oysters and seafood in Greenport and we werent going to wait until dinner to have lunch for you or anyone else.
We had an amazing day before during and after the fiasco of your staff miscommunication.
Wed be hard pressed to be patrons there after that. So good luck, Im sure youll be...
Read moreLittle Creek Oyster Farm & Market, located adjacent to the Mitchell Park Marina, is the perfect setting for anyone looking to enjoy a quick dozen oysters.
It has a great boutique feel. It’s very casual with a court-like setting, and the yachts are amazing to look at while we try three different types of oysters. Compared to other seafood places on Long Island, here you don’t have to worry that the oysters were sitting around —they taste fresh, and you know they’re locally grown.
The popularity of the oyster shack is due to the attraction people have to Greenport in general.
Rung and Ian Wile, brought the oyster business to the more than 100-year-old bait shop and that they strive to keep the history of the building intact. Rung and Wile have no plans to expand the menu, which consists primarily of locally grown oysters and clams. The regional tasting room serves seafood not only from their oyster farm, but other farms in the area as well. They also utilize products from other local businesses, including the pepper and horseradish sauces on the tablesand beer from Greenport Harbor Brewing Co.
Little Creek Oyster Farm & Market evolved from a small self-shucking station, to an experience where you can learn to shuck while enjoying a pint of beer and an extraordinary view. For those who don’t want to shuck their own clams, have no fear, the friendly staff will open all the clams and oysters for you.
Aside from dipping your toes into the Peconic Bay and fishing them out yourself, Little Creek oysters are as fresh as you can get and paired with their shallot and white vinegar dressing, there’s no way you can go wrong. It’s a tucked away gem you need...
Read moreGreat place to go if you want to watch other people enjoy their food and drink. Our experience was as follows. We sat down. We waited. We got our own menus. We waited. Waitress came and we ordered oysters, a club soda, a dark and stormy, and a glass of wine to be served with the oysters. After 10 minutes, still no drinks yet tables that came after us had been sipping drinks from almost the moment they sat down. I asked waitress about my drink. She said they forgot. Since the food should have been coming soon, I canceled my cocktail leaving just the club soda and glass of wine to be served with the oysters. A few minutes later they brought the dark and stormy that I had cancelled. I sent it back. A few minutes after that they brought the wine, which was just placed on the table without so much as a "here you go". Meanwhile the same group of six that came after our group of two was receiving their oysters, which had followed two other plates of food that they had previously received. So now its 20 minutes later and I have just the glass of wine. No club soda or food, we got up and left to which they responded by asking if we wanted to cancel the oysters. We said yes. We walked over to Claudio's and were served water upon sitting down, drinks within minutes of ordering them, and food a few minutes after that. Claudio's staff was courteous and polite... and...
