I had takeout from behind the hotel I'm staying in. I'm very conflicted on how many stars to give. I had issues but the person causing the issue took an initiative trying to balance out the mistake. I walked over to out my order in from the $25 deal they have going on. One app, two entree's and a dessert for $25. The main reason for the 3 stars and not 2 was the value of this deal. I placed my order at the kiosk and was told it would be 20-30 min. A little perturbed by the time frame I took a seat at the bar thinking I'd grab a beer if the bartender makes it over to me in the time most restaurants give an employee to do so. He did not unfortunately. So I got up and went by the kiosk and take out door to stand there. A decent amount of time went by with out me looking at the clock. I was more gauging my ETA of my food based on the older guy that ordered before me. After receiving his food I made myself visible to the take out guy so he'd k now I was right there and waiting. I must have been looking down at my phone for sometime when I looked up and realized the guy that ordered behind me and a firefighter that had just walked in we're walking out with their food already paid for. Fair enough the firefighter may have ordered before me online but the guy that ordered behind me was walking out with bags of food already paid for. Craning my neck to see if there were anymore takeout orders back there sure enough I see a big bag that has to be mine. When I asked the take out guy if it had been sitting there for a while he just sort if ignored me. When asking him again wether it had been sitting there he gave an answer to the effect of it hadn't been there long. Yea, but do I have to tell someone when my in food is up? Without saying another word he gave me my total of 17 and some change. He looked kinda got uilty and said he took off $10 for my additional wait. I commend the guy for doing that and without verbally saying he had made a mistake he took an action owning his mistake which is good enough for me a but would prob have a higher up come down on him for discounting first instead of an apology and such of just owning the mistake and not making me think I wasnt being heard. Either way it was a messy way of taking care of something but in the end was happy with the amount of food I received for $17. All except the very very skimpy amount of cheese and poor poor quality of my fav fajita topping guacamole. Take a look at the picture. That was IT for the cheese. And half of the guac container was just a chuck of avocado. All the other food was good for a...
Read moreWent here to this location for the 1st time on Friday March 8th 2024. if you been to one chilli's you've been to them all! I only say this because it is pretty much the same layout as the harriman location, in which i frequent more. Was greeted right away, by a host, who was clearing up tables, then a manager walked by and sat me right away. I sat in the dining room section. Server greeted me right away, and she was very nice. I started with a water. Needed a few minutes to decide what i wanted because it is lent season, and I try to follow the no meat rule. to add, i usually like their margaritas but wanted to wait because i have a commute to monroe that is about 15 minutes away if one takes route 17. (that is also why i used to frequent the harriman chilis more!) Anyways, finally decided what i wanted to order, had the santa fe salad with salmon, and started with the 1/2 order of texas cheese fries. The cheese fries were very good, but did taste a little salty, but wasn't an overbearing taste. Salad came out really fast, and ate about 1/2 of it, and then asked for a box to take it home. Got a box right away, and overall enjoyed the food! Also come paying time, i had a gift card to use, and the machine was being really dumb and slow and not accepting it, kept asking to ask my server. after 2 tries and a new machine, I just paid with my credit card, which has cashback on restaurants anyways. only 33.00 with the tip included. Hope to...
Read moreThe hostess was braiding each others hair in the front, told me it would be a 30 min wait. After 30 mons she said she would give me a table that sits 6 even though my partner was for 8 and when I questioned it her response was oh well it’s not my problem. After an hour wait she told us it would be an additional 30 mins even though she was seating parties of 6 and 7 and also gave the table that was supposed to be mine to someone else. I overheard the manager try to correct the issue and 5 employees told him not to worry about it and let the hostess do what she does and he allowed it. When I finally spoke to the manager he tried to justify their behavior and when we app spoke the hostess said I was lying and argued with me to the point that it got very loud and I told the manager as well as the hostess that they were extremely unprofessional. The manager has zero control over his employees and the employees have zero respect for the customers. They ended up closing out my tab at the bar and going to a different restaurant. I would never recommend anyone to the middletown Chilis location. When I complained to the manager about the employees braiding each others hair his response was that it was ok because they don’t directly handle food and I told him it didn’t matter since customers all around were consuming food in the area where they were playing with each others hair. Disgusting location, disgusting customer service....
