While we were seated quickly, the service and the food need some improvement.
The corn fritters with the plum sauce are a delicious appetizer. The mango bubble tea was also very good! Though a good portion of the tapioca in it was still a bit hard.
My Father had the duck and my brother ordered the pork fried rice. They enjoyed their meal. But my Mother ordered the teriyaki chicken and it states that is supposed to be grilled but when we asked the waitress, she said they bake it. Not to mention, it was just white chicken served with white rice, some vegetables and a small bowl of sauce. I got the vegetable pad Thai and it was nauseous making. It had a pungent smell from the sauce and that, combined with the smell of the peanuts and "eggy" smell (read that as really rank) from the fried egg- made it horrible. The noodles were good but without all of the aforementioned.
I asked for menu to find something else. Our original waitress came and asked if I didn't like my order. I explained to her and she seemed ticked off and took the bowl and put it on an empty table beside us. Let it be noted that even the busboys were confused by this which made it clear that, that doesn't usually happen here (putting unwanted food aside like that). I didn't ask to return my dish and felt bad about wasting it. I was simply going to order something else but the waitress took my unwanted order away (and it was removed from the bill). I eventually ordered the vegetable fried rice and even that seemed a bit weird. My brother's rice tasted fine but mine tasted weird. I know his had pork in it but something about mine seemed off. It was also super smokey in flavor but my Mom and I shared each other's rice and her white rice cut through some of the smokiness- which made it better. It is not something that can be taken home and saved for the next day because of all the vegetables (which come with it even if you order meat). The rice smelled spoiled when I went for it the following day. Lastly, we had the taro ice cream. It's okay when compared to other places.
All in all, the waitresses seemed a bit rude and/ or uninformed about the food being served here and the food is good but can be better. Just to kind of clarify, we've had Thai food as well as food from other Asian countries, so it's not that we're not familiar with the flavors here. I'd still recommend this restaurant but the service definitely...
Read moreI have been ordering takeout from this restaurant for over 5 years now but never dine in. Today, I was shopping at Towson mall , I was tired and decided to dine in for the first time ever. I was excited, got to the restaurant with my family at exactly 8:10 pm . A waitress named Ann greeted me and asked me if I wanted to take out or dine in. I said I would like to dine in. she immediately said to me, our kitchen closes at 8:30 , so there's not enough time. I asked her, I am ready to order now, and if I order now , is it possible to dine in? Since restaurant closes at 9 pm, I thought I had enough time to eat and get out of the restaurant. With such a mean face , she grabbed the menu and took us to our table. since I had 5 month old kid with me in a car seat, I requested her if I can take a side booth. she said, its already cleaned and closed. then I asked her if I can take one on the front. With a weird expression, without replying yes or no, she sat us there and left. Another waitresss came in , she was also not very pleased with us being there. I could feel the way she was talking. but she gave us water ,and took our order fast.so i felt she did her job. but Waitress Ann, she again passed by our table, and I said to her " excuse me , do you have any tom yum soup ready to eat?,,... this waitress didn't even look at me, walking by my side, she was looking at the front, she kept looking at the front, she said yes and left. she didn't come back to check with me. I never felt so unwelcome in any restaurant everrr. I was really sad with the service , especially since it was my first time dining in , in my favorite restaurant. later after I finished my meal, I thought about talking with the waitress named Ann but I again decided not to ruin her day too. I felt , it is partly my fault too, coming only an hour early to the restaurant. but still, I feel that is absolutely not a way to treat another person. Ann, please be little considerate to others. Thankyou for the food though, it was...

Edit: Gather around everybody, let me tell you a story of how a restaurant loses loyal customers. My wife and I love the food here as it's one of the few good Thai restaurants in the area. The service has always been slow, but worth it. This was a solid 4.5 star place for us and we saw this restaurant as a treat and considered it our date place.
The downfall of this place in our eyes started on such a date night. We get a sitter for 3 hours, which should be plenty of time for dinner and even a drink. We made a reservation, get seated, 20 minutes later we get water and general acknowledgement of our existence. 10 minutes after our water comes, we order. Since we had so long to look at the menu we order appetizers and our entrees. 45 minutes after ordering and bring ignored by everyone (there was a large party that came in after us that took the attention of the staff) we learn that they lost our order. We have to leave hungry and angry. The manager gives us a gift card to try to make it right. Night is ruined, we don't have time for anything else and go home hungry.
Well, we decide to give them a second chance. I call in a take out order at 5pm, nothing huge and early enough. I was given a 45 minute wait. Perfect. I get there after 40 minutes. I wait in the lobby for another hour! A woman also comes in and is told they lost her order, a guy is also waiting for an hour. We have a real moment together as we watch people come and go with food. My crankiness escalates as it should and finally my food comes out. The manager tries to give me a gift card, but it will be useless since this place is dead to me. The best part... I check my order before I leave. Soups, spring rolls, curry and pad Thai. What I ordered, so I leave. In my rage and hunger, I didn't notice they didn't give me rice for my curry! Awesome!
tl;dr got burnt twice with awful service. The food is good but service is abysmal. Save yourself the...
