A delicious and indulgent breakfast. Portions are huge. And after I was stuffed, I kept taking tiny bites, trying to find room in my belly to keep the taste experience alive. I ordered something called, "I'M NOT EVEN SORRY!" from the backside of the menu: Scrambled eggs with country ham, onion, and cheddar. It's mixed with home fries and served with buttermilk biscuits. Everything slathered in sausage gravy. I was going to top it with hot sauce, but it was perfect as-is. My only criticism is that it was just ordinary diced Yankee ham, not the salty country/Virginia style I was expecting. Otherwise, Sassy Skillet got all the details right. The breakfast potatoes are red skin bliss, perfectly seasoned, and crisped on the griddle. The biscuits were fluffy, tangy, and buttery. The real milk and flour gravy was smooth & creamy, with big chunks of crumbled sausage, and a sweet/salty/spicy flavor profile that will transport you to the south and make you forget that you're eating in the Baltimore suburbs. My son ordered "Strawberries and cream French toast tacos." They are only "tacos" in presentation. Sure, it's gimmicky, but also fun. And the French toast, even if it weren't on a taco rack, would still be outstanding--adequately dipped into egg-custard batter (no dry bread center, not mushy and undercooked, like so many other places). It came topped with fresh cut berries, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. My son didn't even touch the syrup. This place is a gem. It's a little hard to find, tucked into the far side of the building, with signage hidden behind a red Stop sign. It's across from the public parking lot. And it seems like it's having an identity crisis: cafe or juice bar? No table service, you order at the counter, serve your own coffee, and collect your own napkins and utensils. Then they bring you a plate of food that's better than anything you're going to find at a sit-down place. The gastronomic quality deserves better ambience and interior decorating. But you'll be so satisfied--over stuffed and bloated--that you'll start dreaming about your next visit even before your stomach has settled and the lingering tastes have left your mouth.

We decided to check it out because of the great reviews. It was a a little hard to find but definitely well worth the search! The customer service was excellent and the 80’s music was quite the vibe. We ordered the “Just French Toast” with berries and whipped cream. They should change its name because there isn’t anything “just” about it. It was the best French toast I’ve ever had! We also ordered the “Give me S’more Pancakes.” With the size of them, there’s no way you could eat “S’more” of those! We’ll have them for breakfast tomorrow too! Not knowing the portion sizes of the food, we also ordered a “Nutella and berries Toast” to share. Even though we ended up taking plenty of leftovers home, we had our fill and everything was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back to try more from the expansive menu!

The food here is the best I have had in Maryland so far. The biscuits and gravy is 100% home made and FRESH. My husband got the fiesta burrito and a big thing for him is restaurants using real cheese and not American. Again, the ingredients used and everything in the burrito was super fresh. My daughter had the confetti pancakes. DEFINITELY a hit with her and the presentation was a 10/10 Along with our meals we got fresh pressed juices. The owner wouldn’t put an ingredient in my juice because it wasn’t fresh and if she didn’t want to eat or drink it why would her customers. Customer service, a place can have the best food but ultimately it is customer service that sells me at the end of the day. This family owned diner has it all! The customer service was the best we have had being in Maryland.

As self-proclaimed breakfast foodies, my wife and I rarely find a spot that truly impresses us. However, our experience at The Sassy Skillet was so exceptional that we couldn't resist sharing our thoughts. This charming breakfast restaurant is a hidden gem that we stumbled upon, and we're so glad we did. Everything about our visit was delightful, from the warm and inviting atmosphere to the incredibly delicious food. The fact that everything is made fresh to order made a noticeable difference in the quality and flavor of the dishes. It's evident that this family-owned establishment takes great pride in their craft, and it truly shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. Without a doubt, The Sassy Skillet served us the best breakfast we've had in a long time, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

The Sassy Skillet is a breath of fresh air in the realm of simple, no frills, breakfast spots. The care and attention to detail put into each dish are truly commendable. From the fluffy pancakes to the perfectly cooked potatoes, every bite was a delight. The friendly and attentive service only added to the overall positive experience and made you feel like you were having breakfast at grandma’s house. It's clear that this restaurant is a labor of love, and we're thrilled to have found it. If you're a fellow breakfast enthusiast, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to The Sassy Skillet. You won't be...
