5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in Travelers Rest! Molina’s Mexican Restaurant in Travelers Rest is everything you want in a local favorite—and then some! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an outstanding dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for families, date nights, or a relaxed evening out with friends. Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely fantastic. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The portions were generous, and the presentation was spot-on. From classic tacos and enchiladas to their specialty dishes, everything was seasoned perfectly and arrived hot and delicious. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do, and it shows in every bite. As great as the food was, the service somehow managed to be even better. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely kind. They made great recommendations and ensured our drinks were always full and our needs were met with a smile. It’s rare these days to find service this good—it really made the entire experience stand out. If you’re in Travelers Rest or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop at Molina’s. It’s one of those places that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. Five stars without hesitation—we’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I shared the Locos Nachos and honestly we weren’t pleased. Between the grease puddle that flowed out from underneath when he pulled a chip out and the chips being basically glued to the plate when we tried to eat them, we left about half the nachos on the plate. Kiddo got two cheese quesadillas which was the best thing at the tables and we all shared some queso which was decent enough but not much flavor there. The food isn’t my biggest complaint, the service is. Having served I know how it can be so when I as your customer hear you being polite and checking on your other tables with no attitude and then you do a complete 180 when it’s our turn for basics like extra salsa and chips BEFORE our food had even come out and forcing the check to my husband even after I was reaching for it was not only unnecessary but just plain rude and disgusting to me. I’ve seen this place quite a few times before and now that I’ve stopped in, I know NOT to come back.

After living in Mexico, I have lower expectations for Mexican restaurants, but for one that claims to be authentic, I disagree. Pretty sure the beans come from a can and every time the cheese dip is so watery it barely tastes like cheese. I would not return , I’ve been about four times hoping I just got a bad meal, but I can honestly say it has never been a pleasurable experience, even with a great crowd.

Love the food. Love the owners. Would have given 5 stars but some of the servers are not so good. One visit, the server forgot my Sangria.. after getting my food I asked for it again and she comes back and says they don't have any. Not sure why a Mexican restaurant wouldn't have Mexican wine in stock. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 kids, and when she brought out the food, 2 of the kids meals were wrong. Theyre mom ordered chicken nachos. The server wrote down the wrong plate #s and they brought out chicken on top of fries. We told her it was wrong, and she argued. Instead of taking the 2 plates back to the kitchen to have them fixed, she just brought out 2 plates with chips. And told them to just pick the chicken off the fries. The next weekend we went, our server (different one) forgot to put our order in. So after sitting for quite a while and watching other tables get their food who was seated after us, I asked and that's when she finally put it in. Again, the food is great and we eat there pretty regularly. And normally don't...
