Food here is delicious, probably some of the best in the capital region. I got the stew chicken with rice and peas. There are different sizes, I was going to get the $8 size, but I got the $5.50 box instead. It is more than big enough, there is so much food in it that I was full, and I am a big guy. If you are a south asian food fan, come here instead of the south asian restaurants in town. The flavors are very "desi"( if you know, you know) even though its a dominican restaurant. It is fresh, spiced well and the chicken is bone in, which makes it even more flavorful. Total winner with their hot sauce. Polite service too which is a definite plus. Only thing is that the pricing is a bit vague. They always ask if you want plantains at the end, but it would be nice to know if they cost extra. Immediately after placing my order I got a call that they had sold out of Sancocho for the day. Devastated might be dramatic but it’s true. However, they let me change my order and said they would send the little bit that was left in a small container. - hands down amazing customer service off of that alone. And when the food arrived- I knew this place would be a problem for me. The stew chicken was delicious, the sancocho was perfect, the jerk chicken was nice and spicy. I couldn’t be happier to have...
Read moreWe ordered Mi Casa catering for our Black Friday dinner. We didn’t want more turkey and wanted to spice things up. MI Casa did the trick. We asked for a milder style of jerk chicken, rice and plantains for our 11 guests. A reasonable $115 later and we are all stuffed with the spice leaving an enjoyable tingle on our lips.
One guest described the jerk chicken as challenging spice but satisfying. An extremely authentic Caribbean meal. We will be ordering again.
Also, we picked up at the mi casa market down the street as the owner operates an authentic Latin influenced downtown grocery store there. What a beautiful space for a market. A gem...
