I was there with a large party of 12. Our server was amazing!
She made sure that our orders were taken immediately after bringing us our drinks. While we were waiting for the first course to come out she brought us bread baskets with plates of oil and herbs. There was also bowls with fresh grid Parmesan cheese sit on the table.
I ordered the chicken piccata, one of my favorite dishes. I ordered it with extra "picata sauce" and that is exactly what I got!
I ordered a salad with the house ranch dressing, which is made in house. The dressing was amazing! Normally I get Italian dressing on my salad at an Italian restaurant but let me tell you this ranch was special!
Next a small bowl of mostaccioli with meat sauce was brought out before the entree. Equally delicious!
My chicken piccata entree was exactly what I was looking for. The chicken breasts were cooked through what still juicy meaning they were not overcooked! The sauce was plentiful and I even had enough to toss my side dish of steamed veggies in with the picata sauce.
Given the fact that the restaurant was short-staffed, you would never know it because the service was working extra hard to make sure we had an excellent dining experience. Kudos to the kitchen because everything they served us...
Read moreTerrible. We had a 103 dollar carryout and when we got home and looked at the portion sizes we thought it was a joke. 6 small pieces of shrimp with a small side of noodles and salad is a $23 dinner? It's embarrassing when you get more salad and veggies then actual food. We had 2 shrimp gambrie shrimp dinners, pollo sicillano, a 4 slice pizza (that's 10 dollars?? Seriously?), And a lasagna along with 2 meatballs (meatballs were a dollar a piece). Then when we went back up there and tried to explain we paid over $100 for this and feel like we barely got any food, portion sizes are insanely small. Instead of taking food off our bill they decided to give us 2 desserts and add some angle hair pasta to the shrimp.
It would be one thing if they food was great but it was not anything special. You can get better and cheaper Italian elsewhere. Oh and the pasta they gave us for free was completely bland. You could tell they just warmed up some pasta to throw in and get us out of there.
All in all our experience was terrible and we will never go back. Overpriced food for tiny portion's. Would not recommend anyone go here there's much better...
Read moreEarlier today I saw a post on social media asking for shout outs to the best Italian restaurants in the Macomb County and immediately thought of my Grandpa. Back in the 90's my grandpa, Edio Deciantis, used to play accordion with his band at a restaurant in Troy called Picano's. I live in Chesterfield now and don't go to Troy often so I Googled to see if Picano's made it through 2020 and to my joy, they did. Furthering my curiosity, I wondered if they might have any photo archives that may include my Grandpa, so on a whim I emailed them. Within an hour or so I got, not an email back, but a phone call from the owners nephew. Though he didn't have any pictures to share, he had already went ahead asking around to see if anyone knew of any photos and even shared contacts with me to further my search. This is by far the most above and beyond customer service I have ever received, and I haven't even set foot in their restaurant in years (sadly). It just happens to be a bonus they they make thee best homemade gnocchi outside of Italy. Please, go for the customer service and stay for the most delicious authentic...
