It's hard to say anything about Salt & Straw that hasn't already been said by others, but coming from someone who does not generally like OR eat ice cream, gelato, or anything even remotely similar (I know, I know...what kind of monster am I?), I will absolutely tear into a (small) serving of some of their savory selections, like Arbequina Olive Oil, or even the Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, if I am feeling frisky. I really wish they had a tomato ice cream! This location, which officially opens (checks watch) today, is staffed by a fantastic crew of engaging, friendly, and wonderful people who practically fawned over us...well, over my wife, our two baby sons, and our puppy whom we smuggled in in the base of our stroller, that is...and made us feel very, very welcome. It was a sweet touch on an already sweet experience. There's a reason Salt & Straw is a local legend in the Portland area, and this new location in Bridgeport Village is poised to carry on and expand that legacy to even greater heights. You know what you're getting into with Salt & Straw, because you want it. You CRAVE it. And if you don't know, do yourself a favor, get in here, and find out. It'll turn even the biggest ice cream curmudgeon (like me!) into a soft serve softie.

I like that their menu items are kind of limited. It makes it easier to decide. I hope that they #o rotate their offerings. We tried couple ice creams with toppings. Both were very good. We also tried the edible fragrance spray too which was definitely a new experience to us.

Obviously their ice cream is delicious! And the staff at this location have been lovely both times we’ve visited. I think it’s a huge oversight, however, that they do not serve water at this location. 🤯🥵 Since we were there in the evening, most other places were closed and there was nowhere to get water. Usually I have my own water bottle, but last night I didn’t, so I asked the cashier for a cup of water and she said that their water is considered unsafe to drink bc it’s unfiltered. Ummmmm….. what?! Please consider selling some biodegradable cartons of water or putting in a filtered spigot. The children are thirsty! That’s...

The best place to get ice cream. They don't serve the normal flavors. You can sample all the flavors, if you so desire.

Don't be put off by some of the combinations.

Every month they have new flavors for a limited time; however, some of those flavors make it to the regular menu due to...
