First and most importantly Kayla our server was outstanding.
We went and my 8yr old ordered a kids meal of chicken tenders with bbq sauce. When my child put their plate down the sauce fell all over their lap. This generally would just be a messy clean up except the sauce was HOT. The inner parts of their thigh were aggravated, red and burned. The waitress immediately got towels and cold ones for her to clean up and did the right thing by getting her manager involved, and she was outstanding. Except when the manager came over he asked if we needed burn spray while I'm actively cleaning up my child and assessing the situation. Once cleaned up I returned to the table and had to clean up the mess in the booth so we could sit down again the waitress checked on us in the restroom and apologized and made sure we were taken care of so I didn't expect her to clean the booth when she was with us. I got my child situated and my other children were eating. Right when I finally was able to move my plate in front of me the manager came back over and offered my child a new drink, and a dessert. While I understand this was a gesture of goodwill it was not the time they had not started to eat yet. Also he asked them directly and sweets weren't an option at that point. He then asked me how my food was clearly untouched. I asked for the bill and a box. He took off my child's meal from the bill. Honestly if I never had to speak with the manager my experience would be rated higher. He was invasive, not helpful, and while he tried to be sympathetic it was not a positive experience. Accidents happen but sauce served to a child should not burn the skin, his first reaction shouldn't have been burn spray but to help assess the situation. Kayla was the saving grace in the entire experience. On top of this after we left the restaurant we had to return for a forgotten item and a new family was seated at the booth. The item was still at the table, covered in sauce and so was the poor lady who had to retrieve it. So needless to say they did not properly clean up the remaining mess of sauce at the booth before they sat...
Read moreIn all honesty the only reason for a star is because the manager waived our part of the meal that was cold this time. This is about the 5th time we have given this Applebees a chance. Tonight was really the last straw. We have been there before and always received mediocre food, not at all as displayed like the menu. We are always given the excuse for apology of either wrong food or cold food that they are dealing with new cooks or staff. Tonight when we first sat down the one thing our daughters enjoy are playing games on the table top Applebees Ipad while waiting. A waitress with large curly blonde hair came up to our table and grabbed the ipad and didn't even say excuse me or anything, when we tried to get her attention she was too busy complaining about another table and the customers. She stormed off and didn't even put the ipad back. After waiting for our food our daughters alfredo noodles were so cold the noodles were hard and in a ball. My husbands ribs were cold and overcooked that he had to try and rip them apart. He ate one rib and he has been sick since we came home. We appreciate the kindness from the manager in regards to waiving his plate but nothing was done about our daughters. So she had 2 mozzarella sticks for dinner until we left. To top it all off I took my daughter to the restroom that was absolutely disgusting. The womans trash had not been emptied in the bathrooms and there were pads and tampons overflowing out of the trash receptacle. In both bathrooms. The service here has definitely gone down the drain. There is always an excuse for the food that seems to be the lowest part of their priority here. Really hope someone there opens their eyes to know that this is a customer service based chain and you should care about the customers paying...
Read moreWe usually don't eat at Applebee's but we chose to eat there because my son earned a free kids meal coupon from his school and he wanted to use it so we went and ate. Food was less than average, service was slow with only 8 tables being used. So it's time to pay and we give the server the coupon my son received from his school. The server came back and said they will not take the coupon. I asked why? She said wares the top of it? I said the school doesn't do those anymore and this is what they gave us. She said we'll my manager doesn't know if we copied it. I laughed, it's Applebee's and it's 8 dollar kids meal. We have no problem paying the 8 dollars but for u to think we copied a coupon my son earned from his school over 8 dollars u think I want to get over on Applebee's is not cool. Whoever was the manager Sunday May 4th about noon ur trash just like the food u serve. That's why u a manager at Applebee's. I would never step foot in ur building if it wasn't for my son earning it and u took that away from him off u judging people. I want u to know that u being in charge of a Applebee's is ur high but in life people know Applebee's is a joke because of clowns like u. We paid with no argument and if my son earns another coupon it's going in the trash just like the food u serve. So the managers called me back, one named Elizabeth and the other on had a strong Hispanic accent. Very nice and apologize for what happen. They offered me a 25 dollar gift card and it's been over a month and I still never received it. It's OK because it goes to show u how Applebee's run there business. Even if u did give me the gift card I wasn't going back anyway. Thank you guys for multiple bad...
