My husband and I have been coming to Che's for a very long time and have never had any issue's with anyone as far as staff. We were just finishing up drinking our beer's and cashed out our bill. My husband signed his receipt and left a zero tip, not because he wasn't going to leave one but because he always will leave a cash tip. We weren't ready to leave because I had wanted to get a glass of water before we had left. I went to the bar to ask for a glass of water and as I asked a gentleman behind the bar he leans over handing me a receipt saying tell your friend he need to pay his bill. I'm like excuse me as I turn around handing the bill to my husband like what is he talking about? My husband then informs me that he already paid the bill, as he then goes up to the bar to talk to the gentleman behind the bar. Apparently then gentleman behind the bar is pissed off because my husband left a zero tip but him not knowing that once I finished my glass of water we would have then left a cash tip. The gentleman behind the bar starts demanding a tip now! My husband says my wife asked for a glass of water we aren't ready to leave yet. The gentleman behind the bar then tells my husband that he is not giving me a glass of water until he gets a tip. At this time then my husband feels someone come from behind him pick him up and walks him out the front doors. Honestly it was a completely embarrassing moment as we have never been treated this way at any other places before. We got kicked out even before my husband was done with his beer. Nor did I get my glass of water that I had asked for. Point being the gentleman behind the bar was very RUDE AND DEMANDING. We will never come back to...
Read moreI went in on Friday 5/6/16 and a dark skin male and white skin female bartenders were serving at about 4-5 p.m. when I got there with a co-worker to enjoy some drinks. I ask the dark skin male bartender if Pabts Blue Ribbon was still for just a dollar because I havent been in there for a couple years. The guy smirks and says no. Next thing he does is he tells the guy next to me that i'm a cheap customer and laughs it off with him. Confused, I didnt know if it was towards me and assured myself that he couldn't of insulted me/a customer simply asking a question but when my co-worker and I left, my co-worker assured me that he clearly heard the bartender guy and that he did insult me for "being cheap". He was surprised that i didn't tell the dark skin bartender anything but i told my co-worker that i was sure that this bartender wouldn't be that much of an unprofessional person. If I want to save money, that is my business, not his. His business is to serve me as long as i'm respectful to him. I loved Che's but this guy gave me a bad experience coming back to this cool bar after years. I hope a manager/owner sees this review and confronts him. I will ask to speak to a Che's superior when i'm at 4th again telling him/her about this very...
Read moreMan Che's, it is rumored to be one of the last places that Fidel Castro and his ragtag group of revolutionaries took to some final shots of Mescal prior to heading to Mexico City, where slick ol' Fidel was able to negotiate a purchase for a barely floating old fishing vessel, which the daring guerillas fearlessly sailed, destined for the west coast of the then leader Batista's Cuba and into history... Supposedly, Fidel fired his rusting Nagant revolver into the ceiling near the front of the bar, while shouting the words "Viva La Revolucion". Amazingly those bullet holes are still visible! Che Guevara himself is rumored to placed a worn out bicycle tube on the wall for "good luck" supposedly the tube had burst somewhere between Nogales, Mexico and Tucson, Arizona it had taken him from Argentina all the way to the U.S. border! This venue/art/cantina of exotic americana is a place to disembark, enjoy a cold refreshing brew, or mixed beverage for everyone, bearded revolutionaries, cigar enthusiasts, and...
