My original post is still below, but I felt inspired to update it as I've been consistently going for one on one sessions weekly for many years now. I cannot express how grateful I am for Sarah and how much she has helped me grow through her love and knowledge of yoga. There's a big difference between your normal yoga class and seeing a yoga therapist like Sarah, who meets you in whatever stage you're at, is always present with you on your journey, relatable and easy to talk to, never judgemental, and truly cares and supports you as an individual. In my experience over the years there have been some big realizations that have come about for me that have led to big shifts, all because of the gentle yet powerful "work" Sarah has guided me through. That being said, I always recommend Blessings Yoga to my own friends and clients. And I plan on remaining her client for the unforeseeable future. So, good luck getting rid of me if you ever wanted to, Sarah!! :)

I came to her with what I thought was a good basic knowledge of yoga positions and movement and what she added was an deeper knowledge and understanding of the breathing, visualizations and meditative aspects of a well rounded practice. She also helped me build toward a daily practice that worked for my goals, schedule and seasons of my life. When we met 1:1 about every other week or so, she listened to barriers both mental and schedule-wise that were preventing a daily practice and worked with me to find a way to incorporate all or portions of my practice into different times of day to address the things going on in my life at that moment. Read moreI am lucky to have taken yoga classes from Sarah for the last two or three months. I'd never tried yoga before, and she has been a patient teacher, introducing new poses and breathing techniques week by week. At the start of each session, she asks her students how their bodies feel; if there's an area of stiffness or soreness, she offers exercises to alleviate the discomfort. Classes most often begin with movement, proceed to gentle breathing, and end with a visualization exercise meant to calm the mind (for instance, to imagine oneself as a tree with strong roots and far-reaching branches). One of my favorite things about Sarah's teaching is that she brings a sense of humor. I also never feel like I have to do everything right the first time or even the second.
