I use to go to La Mesa Tortillas as a kid to eat or just to pick up some tortillas with my parents and I remember this place feeling very nostalgic. It’s been a good few years since I have been, but I saw a post on facebook and decided I needed to drive in to town to go eat and get some tortillas. They have since opened up a new location (just a little bit away from their old location by Home Depot) and the food, staff, and environment are great. I ordered a bean burrito which was priced at a great price and was very filling. Amazing just how I remembered. The same lady that has been working there for years still works there and it was nice to see her. Definitely a very popular spot with constant flow of customers coming in to buy their tamales, tortillas, and more. I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven’t already! :)

This place is not a Mexican restaurant. It’s super American and quite honestly there’s very little options. We came here because of the good reviews but were greatly disappointed. I ordered a quesadilla with cheese and rice and beans. I don’t know if you can tell but the quesadilla is burnt and undercooked at the same time. It tasted like coal. They also included a “salsa” that had no flavor to it. It makes me upset that places like this claim they are Mexican. They’re not. My husband ordered the green chicken chili burrito and it lacked flavor. Other customers were here and they got their orders wrong and one man left in disgust after tasting his food. This review is so that people aren’t tricked into going here thinking it’s a top notch Mexican restaurant.

Good flavor but by the time you unfold the husk, which has masa all on the inside as you unravel it, the Tamale is sooooo small! They look very big when they are wrapped up but super small on the inside!

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a little girl.. let’s say about more than 20 years? I went here today with my mom to the new location on Broadway and I love the new space. We always love your tortillas, tamales, food etc. but this past visit today was the worst ever. The girl that was working the counter was helpful and kind. I asked for a quesadilla (lightly toasted) I got my food and it looked like charcoal/burnt. I went up to the male working in front of the counter on the phone. I waited patiently and told him that I asked for a quesadilla lightly toasted. He wanted to argue and said “it is, it’s like that to melt the cheese” didn’t offer to remake it until I pulled the other side of the quesadilla and it was full of burnt. He said he will remake it and comes back and says “next time tell them you want it lightly toasted” I said I “I did?” And he said “well I don’t see the issue with the last quesadilla it was FLAWLESS but here you go” and I walked out. I was shocked. Out of all my years here I have NEVER been treated like this. What’s the purpose about trying to argue about YOUR mistake? I was nothing but kind the entire time. I get accidents happen but all you had to do was apologize and remake the food and move on. I am sorry for posting this because the owners are always so kind as well as the red head lady, and the young girl working the counter today. But if I was an owner, I would want to know how my staff is treating my long term customers. I will take the extra drive to go to a different location just...

This place is crap green chili tamale is loaded with sugar🤮 who puts sugar in their tamales? They do!!! Refried beans were undercooked & bland tasting & after I got home my dinner was thrown all over in the plastic container after unwrapping tamale it was small & the cochitos were basically just a big soft ginger cookie not anything spectacular & also bland I threw the rest out but after eating this food I felt like was going to vomit just plain nasty & most of the tortillas & chips there are made with unhealthy ingredients so make sure you know what they’re in them the healthiest tortilla chips I buy are the Simple Truth from Fry’s all organic & no flour which taste better than a lot of these Mexican places with less carbs & better for your health too nope I’ll never go back...
