I had never been to vintage wine bar before, and my partner was always talking about it, so, the first hot day of the year, after all this rain, we decided to go check it out. We walked in, and the place was completely dead, but the a/c was pumping, and the place was really nice. The window seat directly to the left was open, so my partner and my service dog grabbed the tucked away spot, out of the way, of the 2 couples in the bar, and to not get in anyoneâs way. A nice young server came to help us and she loved our service animal, even telling us about the passing of her first pet her parents bought her at 9. Day day, RIP!! So my partner went to use the restroom, after we ordered drinks, and this bartender, I didnât get his name, but he is the short one that is balding with a âtry to cover it up, pull backâ of hair, told her that no dogs were allowed. My partner told him that the dog was my service animal (I am a combat veteran) and the lil guy bartender, still denied us, citing a âfood service riskâ because the kitchen is open even though we couldnât even see the kitchen from our table. This is illegal, but seemed like more of a power trip, The place was empty, and we were about to spend the rest of our evening (read: paychecks) there. With a great cash tip for the server. But forget money, when you have a power trip I guess. This is the first place in Tulsa that we were denied. Weâve sat in Barrons on 1st with my service animal. Not sure if it was the bartenders, or the businesses policy, but, it was unacceptable. Also, I am not a tall person either, and am balding, and honestly, the bartender is giving us short kings a bad look. Buddy, you work at a wine bar in Tulsa Oklahoma, youâre not a vineyard owner on Howell...
Read moreI really want to love this place. Right now, it's just going to garner a solid "like" from me, because they have a server that I swear pretty much just wants to serve her own friends instead of acknowledging people. Thankfully, after 15 minutes of sitting directly in front of her without even so much as a hello, another bartender saw I was waiting patiently and asked if I needed help. They need to either hire a more seasoned bartender to replace that current lady on staff, or tell her to light a fire under it - slow to mix drinks, slow to pour wine, slow to pour beer, and selective on who she wants to talk to...hmm. Sounds like someone needs customer service lessons. Needless to say, I love the vibe, the wine list is ridiculous, and it's a nice place to hang out and enjoy a glass while I read, so I'll be back...but hopefully I won't have to wait forever to get someone to pour a...
Read moreWe came for the very first time for the brunch service. Our reservation was for 11, which is when they open (we didnât know this). Our waitress was friendly and did her best, but the bartender was late, and I suspect the kitchen staff was as well because our food took 1 hour to come out. My husbands plain waffle was cold and served with cold butter and syrup so the butter stayed solid. They couldnât microwave it so they remade it, but they only had cold butter so he just had it without. It was hard and underwhelming either way. My tacos were okay (they were out of avocado), but definitely would not take an hour to make. Overall we were disappointed. The place is cute and the waitress was nice, but the food was left us wishing weâd just gone somewhere else. Maybe they have some...
