Read moreThe staff checking us in were friendly and helpful, but could have been more forthcoming with information. I reserved four rooms for a family trip. We all got checked in easily, rooms were clean, and the hotel was nice. However, I will not stay at this hotel again. I feel we were nickeled and dimed to death while we were there. I will say that some of this was my fault for not checking on things better. However, I will still not be choosing this hotel again. I made my reservation through Priceline, which isn't usually an issue, but it was a problem for this hotel. We paid $25.00 x 4 for parking. Now, maybe everyone has to pay that same amount, but I feel that if I'm paying for a room at your hotel, and the hotel owns the parking garage, then I shouldn't have to pay for parking, or just add it in on the price of the room so there isn't an extra charge. I did research and saw a charge might be added but the information online was all different amount, so I should have called ahead to ask that question. After booking on Priceline, I always go to the hotel site to check the hotel out more thoroughly. I see the free hot breakfast advertised. That is pretty standard, so I don't think to ask questions. My husband and I go down to eat breakfast. There is a sign at the entrance that says the breakfast is $17.00. We decided there was no way we were going to pay that, but I knew they had advertised it was included with the room. We decided to ask questions. A man was checking-in in front of us. A lady asked his room number. He gives it to her and she sends him on. So, I assumed at that point that the $17 must be for non guests. We give her our room number, and she sends us on. We make our plates, come back to our table, and there on the table is a $35.00 ticket for us to pay. I asked the lady about it, and she just says I have to go the front desk. So, I leave my $17 breakfast to get cold while I go to the front desk. They inform me, for the first time, that because I made my reservation through Priceline my breakfast wasn't included. I feel that I should have been informed of that at check in or at least as the lady took my room number and new I was going to have to pay for it. She was standing at the register and could have charged me right then instead of surprising me with a bill after I had fixed a plate. The front desk person also told me that this confusion happens all the time with people who book with an outside organization. Well then, I feel that to avoid that confusion they could have given me that information anytime before handing me a $35 bill for two people for a breakfast bar. I just feel that the whole experience was tainted because of hidden charges and stipulations. The hotel also advertised that each room had a mini fridge, and I think a microwave, but I'm not positive about the microwave. When we got into our room there was no minifridge or microwave. However, some of the other rooms had minifridges in them. It was just a mess. If you add up all the extra charges I paid, I could have stayed at a much...
Read moreI will never stay at a Hyatt again. First, the booking and customer service was a disaster. I booked via the Hyatt website and received 5 confirmation emails. I only booked once for 1 room. All were prepaid rooms with no refund. I called customer service and she told me she could cancel 4 of the reservations but was unable to waive the fee which was the entire room rate. I kept explaining it was a system glitch and that I shouldn't have to pay for their system error. She kept telling me she understood but that she was unable to waive the "fee" and that I could call the hotel directly for help and that she was also unable to call the hotel and get it straightened out. The hotel transfers me back to customer service. I hang up and call the hotel again and explain that customer service said they couldn't fix it. The poor lady tells me it's customer service who CAN fix it. I'm on hold for awhile and she comes back to tell me it should be fixed. Fast forward to check-in day and I receive 5 emails to check in to 5 different reservations... 🤦🏼♀️. This time someone at the hotel actually fixed it before I arrived, though. However, our room had cobwebs and a spider's nest of eggs on the window. We call down and they tell us to just come get another room. So we pack everything back up on the cart and go back down the elevator. We get into our 2nd room and that's where these pictures are from. Still cobwebs in the windows, thick dirt and dust on all the baseboards, hair on the toilet seat, a stain on the bed, and a cleaning bottle left in the bathroom. We go back downstairs (my poor friend has major motion sickness and all the elevator rides were really getting to her) and we show them the pictures. The guy seemed mortified and got us a 3rd room and checks it out himself before giving us the keys this time. He tells us this room is spotless. Same cobwebs in the windows, same thick layer of dirt and dust on the baseboards. We gave up and accepted that they just don't clean very well and that at least there was no spider eggs or hair in this room. They comped our valet and offered us a free breakfast. Just 1. One free breakfast even though 2 people just spent 1 hour moving from room to room and waiting for new rooms and 1 of us almost getting sick from the 5 elevator rides that should have only been 1. Fast forward to breakfast, we order room service and with an omelet comes toast and 1 side. They forgot my toast and one side! My friend got eggs Benedict and they forgot the hollandaise sauce! It was a huge disappointment all around. The ground floor lobby was usually dirty as well and I had to go to the 2nd floor on one occasion to ask where the valet was because there was no one around while we were waiting for awhile. I guess I'll go back...
