So, we went to the lion king and it was great. My 4 year old type 1 diabetic daughter absolutely loved it too, with that being said getting into the PAC wasn’t that pleasant. We are not quite a year into my daughters diagnosis so a lot of things are still new. We had to obviously bring in a medical bag (she always has to have one) well they had a bag check which I knew , so I had down sized from a backpack to just her small pen bag we were given from the doctor, well I put 3 low snacks in there apple sauce and two packs of gummies. The security guard checking our bag says let me get the manager and see what she says she proceeded to just pick at the snacks saying apple sauce is okay because it has natural sugar but the gummies are not. I froze on how to respond my husband thankfully did not and quickly told the manager that was going to work for us. She rudely responds let them through this time but no one else can bring that in and walks off. I don’t expect everyone to know how type 1 diabetes works but it’s not like type 2 at all! And what was not know is we had just ate dinner and had I dosed my daughter wrong or she decided not to eat properly my daughter could have had a urgent low meaning her blood sugar is dropping really fast apple sauce is not always enough to stop her lows. Apple sauce and gummies can literally be the difference between life and death for her. People that have a disease already deal with a lot and are always having to worry about policies but most places have something in effect that can be filled out online. My suggestion is to put something in place like that or be willing to make an exception for people that have life threatening diseases. My daughter would love to go back but I’m not going to lie the interaction left...
Read moreLast night I went to see Back To The Future the Musical . This is a beautiful venue for a concert / show. Staff are so friendly , and exit signs are everywhere. With a 2,396 capacity, the atmosphere is electric , with excellent seating in all areas and plenty of room between seats. Sound was outstanding , with two banks of speakers , with 8 speakers a side coupled with two bass bins . Crisp and clear all night. The only downside in an excellent show was the infiltration of liberalism and wokeness into a classic story that certainly didn’t need it at all. There was a whole song dedicated to the “ dreamers” , with reference to illegal immigration, a reference to President Trump for 2020, and most aggravating of all, a reference to white trash , which , strangely , the audience laughed at. I’m surprised the production company didn’t bring LGB into it. Still , most touring companies are gay and from NY or LA , so no real surprise to hear it , but it put a big dent in what could have been a 5 star performance. Band was excellent for a 5 piece , and the visuals were out of this world , particularly near the end. I recommend the PAC as one of the best venues in Oklahoma , if not the South. Tulsa should be proud of it , in...
Read moreOur first time to TPAC. We appreciated the smaller theatre and lower ticket prices. One complaint is the price of drinks, specifically wine. There is no need for premium wines for premium prices. All wines of equal quality should be provided. And the souvenir cup!!! OMG! Why? You force patrons pay extra for a souvenir cup with a lid to take into the theatre? Shouldn’t all cups have a lid and not cost $6??? That is absurd. If you get a refill at intermission you are forced to take your souvenir cup into the bathroom with you which is disgusting. Also, being new to the theatre we arrived early and waited in the long hallway. We waited 10 minutes after the notice of the doors opening but the doors never opened. We were sitting right in front of an usher who never instructed us on where to go. The doors never opened. Come to find out you must walk up the next set of stairs to the main doors. And there is no center isle so you are constantly having to scoot in front of people and let people scoot in front of you. We have season tickets to the OKC Civic Center broadway musicals. They provide disposable cups with lids for no extra cost and the ushers are constantly asking if you need guidance. Hopefully TPAC will look...
