Freebirds World Burrito — Restaurant in Tyler

Update: Freebirds made up for the mistake. I really enjoyed my follow-up lunch date with my wife. The pulled pork Freebird was good. A few things for work on: I think they need signage either by the items that cost extra, or tell you, hey there is a $1.40 charge for this one small scoop of queso, do you want it? It might have been on the menue board, bit that is not where I am looking when the are making my burrito. Also staff need to talk more. I tell the first guy a free bird, and the second guy wasn't paying attention, and I almost ended up with a monster again. Also, the tables need to be cleaned more frequently. Otherwise, it could have been a 5 star for me.

Original: Oh man, where to start. I like Freebirds, but... I ordered a Freebird, and wanted to try their brisket. I was told there was a "small upcharge". When I got to the end my burrito was $16.00!!! Apparently the message was not conveyed that I wanted a Freebird, and the guy made me a monster, which is usually like $9.25, but that small upcharge was $6.75! I paid for it and ate it, but my enjoyment of it was tainted by the astronomical price! On top of that, both the cilantro rice and the brisket were dry, and over done. I immediately regretted paying for it. I should have told them to make it again, correctly, or discount my food to what it should have cost. After eating I looked for a price listed in the store to verify the upcharge, and all they had was a small board hidden at the tortilla...

First time visiting. Service was good. The food did not live up to the expectations or the prices. I got a steak burrito and it was one of the blandest burritos I’ve ever had and I put a good amount of fresh cold toppings on it. Overall it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. Chipotle may not have as much of a variety but they make it up in flavor and freshness. Just because there’s more choices doesn’t mean you’re getting quality food. The chips are pre bagged so I doubt they’re made in house and I was told the guacamole is made fresh but I have my doubts on that as well. I could be wrong. The staff was very friendly and helpful but the food really wasn’t anything to write home about. Lastly the atmosphere was nice and modern but the custom foil decor from what I can assume is from customers is a little tacky and trashy imo. May come back for a second try just to see how the bowl option is but first impressions weren’t...

I ordered a bowl and a kids meal. The kids meal was missing half the order and we live 20 minutes away and I didn’t think to check it before I left. The kids meal was supposed to be a steak quesadilla with bell peppers and onions with pico added on and sour cream on the side. It had none of that except a little steak and zero cheese at all. How it can be a quesadilla with no cheese. Idk. It was missing the kids chips also. My bowl the rice was dry , they didn’t add but a small amount of chicken. I added lettuce to the bowl and there was no lettuce at all. Absolutely ridiculous for a restaurant to mess up this bad on a single meal is pretty bad. I get they were a little busy being a Sunday. But they should at-least take the time to make the orders right that are ordered online. The service has been bad at this location for a while and this has to be the worst...
