China Garden — Restaurant in Union City

I redid my review because of an experience that I had there. I would not recommend eating here because of the service. I would eat there at least once a week and often twice. One day I called in and ordered my food, and they said it'd be ready in 15 minutes I walked in the door 14 minutes after that because I had been sitting in the car waiting. I waited and I waited and many people had their food before me. I asked the young man about my food, and he was always too busy because the place gets busy at times. Eventually after everyone else was gone, and almost 40 minutes later I asked about my food again and it had been sitting there for at least 30 minutes and had little heat at this point. They told me that the number would have been called and I missed it but that was not the case. Even if that was the case, you would not let good food sit there for 30-40 minutes. For this reason I am scoring them low because the young lady who works the counter said they don't give refunds, although I saw her give a customer a refund for an item not even 20 minutes prior. This is an updated review from my last review 9 months ago. There are new owners/ workers and so need to give updated review. I change my review to a 3 (really a 2.5). The fried rice is always hard and lacks flavor. When they first took over it was extremely salty. The food is not the same. Urrgg!!! Bring back the people who were there a year ago. PLEASE. I had to start going to another location. 😟 Its not bad but no where near as good as before. See my review from before - Review from 9 months ago. GREAT - Food rather tasty. I pass a restaurant 2 min from my house to patron this location. Always busy, food flavorful and prices reasonable. They seem to go through a lot of management changes. The workers seem to change frequently. This most recent change is questionable. I'll have to monitor it. Ordered food at 2:30 arrived at 3:10. I know it usually takes 10-15 mins to be there to pick it up but my husband wasn’t-not a big deal. Besides that when the food got back home, it tasted old..something was wrong. So he went back up there with the food. She didn’t refund or make over. She yelled at my husband (I was on the phone listening ) that he was there an hour later and he wasn’t. She made it seem as is if the food was no longer fresh because it was there more than 15 mins. So I called up there after I told him to leave the food and bounce—I told her that doesn’t minimize the taste the food was simply nasty. She began yelling at me and I told her that their business in a predominantly black neighborhood and we patronize them and should not be treated with disrespect-especially when it’s not done to them.
