La Fiesta Union City — Restaurant in Union City

Decent food, with exceptionally poor service. The food would have been better had they not cheaped out on it, and tried to turn a profit on it. For example, they brought me nachos with enough tomatoes on it, to only put on one chip. When I pointed it out to the waitress, she offered to bring more tomatoes out. I'm thinking she's correcting a shortcoming on the meal, but when I get the check, I see I was actually charged for it. When I ordered a pitcher of margarita, when they brought it out, it was only enough to fill the two small glasses they brought out. Why so little in such a large pitcher? Because they filled it up with ice. We pointed that out to the server (Alexis J) when they brought it up, and she just laughed about it, like I was Kevin Hart telling her the funniest jokes she'd heard. My lady ordered fajitas. They brought her food with just a pinch of pico... and apparently whoever did the pinch, had small fingers 😑. My lady showed the server, who agreed it was a paltry amount of pico. My lady asked for the proper serving of pico to be brought out. The server said she'd fix it, only for us to get the check at the end, and see we were charged extra for the thimble-sized amount of pico they brought her to correct it. When we saw the absurd charges on the check, we pointed it out to the server. We reminded her that we showed her the plates at the beginning, and even she agreed they were short on what should have been there. She stated that she was still going to charge us for it anyway, despite the fact that was supposed to be them correcting their initial mistake. The manager (Carlos) eventually came out and echoed the same thing the waitress stated. Suffice it to say, this will be our final time eating here, and I don't recommend anyone come here, unless you like being ripped off. You're better off going to Los Mariachis a couple minutes up the road, instead of dealing with the likes...

So, this was bad. Real bad. Not like an episode of cops but this was bad.

The salsa was too spicy and yet I love spicy food. There was a lack of flavor as well. I coughed when I went to swallow so to me that’s spicy.

No lemons for the water, just lime. Boooo!

All of the food was served with scorching hot plates for no reason other than the fact that they were probably just sitting under the heat lamps. My beans looked like I left them out after cooking them. (Crusty) The rice was crispy and not flavorful. I sent both of these items back.

My friend received a phone call as the waiter came to the table and he was coming to check on us and also tell us this is our last chance for drinks. I didn’t have one but my friend did. He nodded and said he wanted a Margarita. I asked the waiter a minute or two after if he saw the “head nod” and he didn’t. So I asked if my friend could have his margarita bc he had step outside to get this phone call. He told me unfortunately that was the last time for us to order a drink and now it is not possible. I was stunned and just said ok. My friend came back disappointed and shocked he didn’t get the water he asked for or a new drink.

Our waiter insisted for us to sign the bill so he could close out our table. This is extremely rude and should be accepted absolutely 0 times. He then had to rerun the card for .75 cents because we asked for more tortillas for his fajitas.

This was one of the worst experiences from start to finish and I could write more but I figure whoever is reading this has a life and I should stop complaining.

But hey, don’t go here.

I ordered fish fajitas. Included with that is rice, lettuce, pico, beans, and 3 flour tortillas. When the food arrived, it had a splash of pico. I asked the server for more pico and showed her what was on the plate. My hubby ordered nachos. It was a very large portion. There was also a splash of tomatoes on his salad. So, he asked for enough tomatoes for his salad. Well, we got out bill and we were charged for both the tomatoes and pico. We aren't cheap by any means and always tip generously when the service is good, but I was not happy about paying extra for tomatoes and pico. This restaurant purposely gives you a very small portion so they can charge for it. There goes her tip. She even saw the miniscule amount of tomatoes and pico. We didn't even see her again until our food was almost gone. Never came to check on us. Thanks Alexis J for the terrible service. We asked to speak to a manager (Carlos). His response was that's the portion size for those meals. What a joke! There also was a party of 6 or so with small children. The staff wasn't even accommodating to this party. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant, but they insisted for everyone to be seated in on area of the restaurant. They didn't offer them any type of seating arrangements. Needless to say, the party got up and left. I don't blame them. I will never come back...
