Came in because I saw there were vegetarian options and wanted to support a business near the campus. It's finals, so I was pretty exhausted and just asked the cashier what was recommended between two of the "wok" tofu options. She let me know that I could do a combo so I ordered that. Shortly after one of the cooks came out and started yelling at her rudely, all I could make out was kung pao tofu (again...tired). So that went on for a while, as the cashier went in the kitchen to talk, I just keep hearing her being yelled at, while she was clearly trying to find a solution to whatever was the problem.
When the cashier came out she was very polite and extremely apologetic, but said that apparently the tofu options are not allowed to be made into a combo, and the cook refused to make it even though the order was paid for. The only option I was given was to have them make only one of the items, but give me slightly more food. Since I had no other options I said ok....only realizing after that this meant I ended up paying more money than if I had just been charged correctly (I guess this is why they said I was getting slightly more food? I have no way to know if I am actually getting more food). The cashier politely brought out a premade iceberg salad with ranch which isn't really my thing while I waited, guessing that was the only thing she had the authority to make.
I really wanted to like this place, it can be so hard to find vegetarian options, and being so close to TCC would have made it a regular lunch spot for me, but such bad service just really left a nasty taste in my mouth. I wouldn't have even minded just cancelling my original order and charging me appropriately for what's available, but overcharging me for something I didn't even order and the rude yelling, it's probably going to be a pass for me.
The food was good, had to take off a star for it not being the right thing, but the taste and texture was good for vegetarian. The place was clean which was nice, but atmosphere has to include the hostility (including towards towards the poor cashier who just made a small error and...

Updated Update July 19, 2018 Well whomever was cooking the Fried rice today really blew it. We bought extra for our Mother because it had been so good of late...big mistake. The rice today was some of the worst rice I have had in a very long time. We called and let them know so they might check before sending it out to others. Getting rather hit and miss for WokV. Sometimes great..Sometimes Not so good..
ReUpdate June 2018: Well I don't know if it was reviews like this forum or them listening to the customers, but this place is back on my Good list of places in Tacoma. The Teriyaki Chicken is back to the tender well prepared level it used to be. It is also my vote for Best Fried Rice in T-Town. Keep it up Gyozas tonight we're exceptional. Thanks for bringing back the best in town.
Update Mar. 2018: I have to in all fairness down grade this location. The past 3 or 4 orders have been less than expected. Seems each time the owner is away it is a bad day to order. I hate to say it but we can't rely on the food anymore. Chicken fried rice last time, was no more than white sticky rice with some vegetables and chicken(charred chicken) heated in the same pan.. Feel free to continue reading our original review. What's happening here is anyone guess.
This was our original review:
We regularly eat here and find it value conscious as well as good quality. Occasionally an order may have a problem. Owners and staff are always...
Read moreI've been coming here for several years now and I don't know if they have changed owners recently. I went in today and got the general tso chicken and some spicy ramen to go. I get home with my order and it is old chicken, dried up and brown as if they gave me someone's old order. Called back to let them know and the man who answered the phone told me the oil was old, then when I asked him why he served it to me he tried to turn around and say "Well it is isn't necessarily that old." I didn't ask for a refund or to exchange my order but told him that he shouldn't have served me or anyone what he new to be old food or food cooked in old oil and that I would be leaving a review. His response was to tell me not to threaten him. I used to come here pretty often and loved the young blond woman who used to be up front. I will never come back to this place. They were rude and dismissive of my reasonable complaints. You lost a loyal customer today with your...
