I have need to update a review that I put in regarding Carrabba's Willow Grove from a year ago. A year ago I gave a glowing review because everything except my veal parmesan entree was awesome. I wish I could say the same about our experience from yesterday evening.
Tuesday evening and the establishment was not overly busy which is not unexpected for the middle of the week. The host, he looks more like a bus person then a host as he was bringing things that he was cleaning a table with, took a couple minutes to meet us at the front counter which was a mild surprise of a delay I wasn't expecting. When we did sit down our waitress took somewhere between five and 10 minutes to arrive at our table to begin our dinner experience hear it again it was not that busy but our waitress took a lot longer to arrive and greet us then it would be normally expected. And while she was very polite and courteous it was somewhat surprised that it took her longer to do basic elements of the evening that I would have otherwise expected any more prompt fashion.
My wife and daughter both ordered a filet with a couple different items and both of them did enjoy the filet and the side items that were ordered.
Once again I order veal parmesan with angel hair pasta. When it came out there was a sizable amount of pasta and three pieces of the veal that represented on my plate. The amount of sauce that was on the angel hair pasta was minor at best although there was an ample amount of me within the pasta.
What I saw on my veal parmesan however was something I've never seen before in any restaurant and was extremely disappointed. I normally ask the restaurants on top of the veal and sauce and the slice of cheese that goes on top of it to include a very healthy amount of grated cheese to be put on the veal before they put the sliced cheese and put it under heat to melt the cheese.
The veal parmesan arrived with absolutely no sauce on it and in spite of the waitress saying that they did put grated cheese underneath there was none there. I've never seen veal parmesan with just slices of cheese on top of it ever before in my life! I could not finish my meal because of that! I had to request extra sauce to be brought to the table just to try to enjoy it however the waitress took a lot longer to bring a cup of sauce to me then she should have.
When the waitress arrived with a cup of sauce she left and then came back a minute or two later asking if everything was okay I told her I cannot eat this I am extremely disappointed asking her about the sauce that was missing so what she agreed that should have been sauce. She came back movement leave saying that the restaurant has remove the veal parmesan from our bill. While that was appreciated I was even more disappointed that the manager did not arrive at our table to identify what was wrong and try to fix this in some way or shape or form! Far as I'm concerned the manager did a great disservice to my experience as a customer service is something that I believe two robbers takes pride in and there was little customer service beyond the waitress trying to be as accommodating as possible
As a manager arrives at my table he could have very easily had them remake the veal in the matters I would have enjoyed it and what if they was correct this monstrosity of errors but there was no manager to be seen or heard from at all! This is a complete failure of the restaurants customer service skills being demonstrated by the entire restaurant staff. Again the waitress was polite and courteous except for some timing issues that were slower than expected there is nothing wrong that she would have done and she did everything to try to correct it in her power.
I'll have to think twice about coming back to this location in the near future and consider other Carrabba's locations that are in the Philadelphia area. What a disappointment because I do enjoy the Willow...
Read moreWhat a nightmare. Waitress took our order. I think her name was Sam. After this, it all went downhill. Got our drinks. Wife wanted some creamer for her tea but couldn't find waitress. Looked for a while. Then came the soup and salad course. Busboy brought it out. Couldn't find waitress while waiting with our drinks so we asked busboy to get glass of water and some cream for wife's tea. He brought it out. Best service of the visit, imagine that. Got some sort of herbs on a plate to pour the olive oil on to dip our bread into but it was super salty. Manager stopped by to see how we were doing and we mentioned that the herbs on the plate was super salty. He said we got too much on the plate. He took it back and came back with about one sixth of our original herb concoction. Then it tasted better. Apparently someone didn't know how much to put on the plate. My soup was good and my wife's salad was ok, she said. I mean, it's lettuce and tomatoes. You really can't mess that up. No follow up visit on the soup / salad course by the waitress either. Haven't seen her since she took our order. Manager brought out our main dinners. I saw our waitress behind the bar. I guessed she was the bartender. Not sure why they made the bartender a waitress also. She was busy handling the bar and not us. We ate. My wife's lobster ravioli was cold. Probably from NOT having a waitress pick it up on time. My steak was ok. Nothing great. Just a regular piece of meat. meh. The manager started walking over to us and THEN the waitress/bartender rushed over to see how we were doing. That's the "how is everything here?" follow up visit a good waitress should do after every course is delivered. But the manager was LITERALLY one seat away before the waitress/bartender came over. She didn't even make it to the table before asking if everything was alright. She just wanted to ask us before her boss asked us. We ate our mediocre meal and then finished and sat, disappointed. I never got a side i ordered. I said "shouldn't i have gotten the fries with the meal'? The waitress/bartender said "yes. You should have." but continued to look at me like I had the answer as to why it didn't come out. We were done eating and she asked if we wanted them now. I guess she expected us to wait at the table when we were done eating for an order of fries to come out that we couldn't eat. Or if i wanted them to go. Waiting for them to cook fries so we could take them home and put them in the fridge to get soggy. Wasn't into that option either. I just said take it off the bill. This visit was horrible. Horrible service. We just wanted to get out of there at this point. But being the polite idiot i am, i still left a tip. I really shouldn't have. I'm never going back there again and frankly, no one deserved it, except for the busboy. They will never recognize me out in public. I had this image of me not leaving a tip and having the waitress/bartender running out after me asking "shouldn't you have left a tip?". I would have said "yes, i should have" and still leave. The booth was...

This review is in reference to my experience at Carrabba’s in Willow Grove on the evening of 7/25/25, where I dined with my family. I don’t know the name of our waitress, but she was also tending the bar that night. Unfortunately, her conduct was the worst I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant — rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional from beginning to end.
We sat at our table for nearly 15 minutes before she even acknowledged us. When she finally approached and asked if anyone had taken our order, I politely explained that we had been waiting. Her response was shocking: she immediately became defensive and visibly irritated — as though we had done something wrong by simply expecting service. From that moment forward, she treated us with clear hostility. She rolled her eyes repeatedly, walked away with an attitude of indifference, and carried herself with a “couldn’t care less” demeanor that made us feel incredibly unwelcome.
When we asked a simple question about an item on the menu — specifically, about the wings — she responded with sarcasm and condescension, raising her voice and saying, “Fried means fried,” in a tone that was both disrespectful and belittling. It was completely unnecessary and made us feel insulted.
What made matters worse was that we witnessed her treating other guests with warmth and friendliness — a stark contrast to the cold, dismissive, and borderline hostile way she treated us. Despite her attitude, we remained courteous throughout, but it clearly didn’t make a difference.
At the end of the meal, she even had the audacity to ask if we were going to leave a tip on the card — something that felt more like pressure than a polite inquiry, especially considering the poor service. We tipped despite the experience, but it felt undeserved.
Even though the restaurant tried to make small gestures to improve our visit, nothing could undo the damage her attitude caused. It completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable dinner with my family. To top it off, my daughter’s order was incorrect, and I couldn’t even enjoy my own meal because of the atmosphere she created.
This server’s behavior was completely unacceptable for someone working in the hospitality industry. She was rude, dismissive, aggressive, and lacked basic professionalism. It’s unfortunate, but because of her, I’ll seriously reconsider returning to...
