So anytime I am hitting BBQ outside of the south, I get a little nervous, but was excited to try this place with good reviews. As we pulled up to the restaurant (located in a residential area and inside of what was previously a house), I knew this would be unique. Lots of parking in the rear on a Saturday afternoon. Inside is divided into two rooms that are fairly dark with a casual industrial vibe overlaid with kinda loud pop music playing, loads of large TVs on the walls playing football games, random casino game machines, and 2 large bars in each room. I can't decide if this is a neighborhood dive bar or a small restaurant but seeing as everyone was crowding the bars watching the games, it felt more dive sports bar than restaurant. This place is small - there are probably 6-10 tables total with a mix of booths and tall tables. I think one busy waitress was serving everyone but we never waited long for her to stop by and she always brought us everything we needed quickly, great service. Decent draft beers selection. I think they have a small kitchen because 2-3 meals come out at a time, with a few minutes between each meal. The food is very reasonably priced for BBQ (ex. $21 for 1/4 pound brisket, 3 ribs, and onion rings) and the portions were all very large, and the quality was great. They have 4 flavors of sauce on each table, none are particular spicy if that is your thing. The ribs were great and the brisket was tender and delicious (but more lean and less wet/ fatty). Overall we were all happy with the food, the vibe is a little unique so depends on the outing you looking for.

Heard about this place from a family member and stopped by to sample the BBQ. As I approached the front door, the faint smell of smoked meat was an indicator of the tasty food to come. I tried the ribs, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Mac-n-cheese and fries. The ribs didn't survive long enough for pictures: the dry rub was phenomenal with a nice kick of pepper and the smoky flavor permeated the meat. Brisket tended more toward dry than wet but was smoky, tender and flavorful. The pulled pork was nicely seasoned and smoky. Mac-N Cheese was shells with great flavor and generous portion size and the fries were from fresh potatoes and full of flavor. Finally, their house BBQ sauce is tangy and tasty...reminds my of NC style but with its own twist. Service (for carryout) was prompt and courteous. Highly recommended! Food is even better freshly served - and you have access to all four sauces. Stop in!

I’ve never seen a bartender/server so blatant about not wanting to be at work. I’m a former server too. This bartender (Letisha was the name on our check) literally TALKED A CUSTOMER OUT OF ORDERING TAKEOUT just so she didn’t have to take an order…

Letisha took our order and it took almost exactly an hour to receive our food, which was missing one meal (there were only 3 of us, one had to wait an additional ~20 minutes to get his meal remade). She blamed it on someone else taking his sandwich but if she was staying on top of the food coming up in the window, that shouldn’t have happened. Then she brought him someone else’s sandwich, and took it back, before finally bringing the correct meal out (3rd times a charm??) our meal was missing a side but it wasn’t worth the hassle to try to get it. Our friend received his food as we’d finished our meal, so he ended up eating part of it quickly and taking the rest to go.

I think the rest of the food was probably sitting under the heat lamp for a long time because it was pretty dried out, bbq wasn’t very hot but the pickles were warm. I asked when she dropped off the food if I could have an extra bleu cheese. ~10 minutes later she still hadn’t brought it out and we’d been waiting for her to make rounds because she never brought any bbq sauces with our barbecue, which was cold. I had to get up to find her (on her phone) and ask her for the bleu cheese, which she turned around and grabbed it from the kitchen window where it had been sitting, and the bbq sauces. She was super rude and passive aggressive, and I think she and the guests who eat at the restaurant would all be much happier if she’d found a more suitable line of work, because she clearly does not want to do this. Reading through some of the other reviews, where she takes the phones off the hook and doesn’t acknowledge any customers even when they try to get her attention, it’s pretty crazy to me that this is allowed to continue.

The part where she talked the customer out of ordering food she obviously wanted to get was the icing on the cake though. Here’s how that went: Customer walks up to bar with menu in hand: “Hi I’d like to place a to go order.” Bartender: “Ummmm……welllll…… it will take a REALLLLYYYYY long time.” Customer: “….” Bartender: “Like, 30 minutes….” Customer, exasperated, wants her food: “Okay… I guess nevermind then?” Customer waits for several seconds to see if the bartender will offer to take the order or ask if she’s okay with the wait time Bartender, turns her back on the customer, big smile on her face, makes eye contact with me who has been watching the whole thing, dumbfounded, and she says (still smiling) “That suckssss”

The food was just okay so I don’t see any real reason to ever go back to this place. Certainly not good enough to make up for...

During our visit to the bar, the bartender initially dismissed my mother and me, serving other customers instead. When she finally returned to ask what we needed, she handed over our beers, tossing them on the counter rather than placing them gently. When we requested a bag for our drinks, she again threw them on the counter and walked away. This experience left us feeling marginalized, raising the question of whether her actions were influenced by bias, as my mother and I are both Black. I will be contacting management about your employee.

I wanted to bring to your attention a second incident involving your younger bartender with blonde hair. My wife approached the bar again to request some takeout, and unfortunately, she faced similar issues as before. The bartender treated her like a burden and displayed an unpleasant attitude when she asked for a bag for her beer. This ongoing behavior is concerning and needs to be addressed. She the small blonde headed young woman with glasses.

I attempted to reach out to Marissa, the manager, via email but received no response. Subsequently, I visited the establishment and spoke with her directly. During our conversation, she defended her bartender, asking, "What do you want me to do?" This response reflects poorly on her capabilities as a manager. It's important for management to communicate with their employees and ensure professional conduct in the workplace. Regardless of Aliee’s tenured service with no prior complaints, such behavior is unacceptable. I was then directed to speak with the owner, but I doubt that this will change anything. This situation has highlighted underlying issues, including what I perceive as discriminatory behavior. Please avoid this place if your are any person any other race...
