Uncle Menny's Original Greek's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Valparaiso

Extremely poor, completely unacceptable experience. Placed carryout order online and the instructions were to call when you arrived. We tried to call multiple times and received a busy signal every time. So we had to get out of the car to tell them they were there, but the front door was locked (locked!!) and the teenage male employee almost walked right past us ignoring us (right in front of the door) on his way back inside. We politely told him about the phone issue, and he literally had no response except to ask for the order name. No acknowledgement of the phone being off the hook. We had arrived on time for our order (45 min after we placed it online), and it was not ready for another 30 minutes, despite there only being 1 person in front of us by that point. When he (same employee) FINALLY brought it out, we mentioned that it was 30 minutes late, and he seemed surprised but otherwise unemotional and unapologetic. Absolutely abismal service.

Then if that wasn't bad enough, the pizza and knots were COLD (were they just sitting there???) and flavorless. The knots didn't have nearly enough of the toppings, and the pizzas were ok at best. Seriously I could not believe the quality difference. I grew up in valpo & even lived across the street from Greek's for a year, and they used to be SO good, one of the best in a very competitive-for-pizza town! I couldn't believe how bad the quality was compared to how it used to be!!

I really wanted to try this place ever since I moved here and drove by it countless times. Finally stopped in to get some pizza. Both pizzas were horrible. Got a large pepperoni and a large calabriese. I can't believe they messed up a simple pepperoni pizza...the flavor was just off, I don't know how else to describe it. The calabriese sounded really good, but my girlfriend and I both thought it tasted like a cheese pizza with mustard. Again none of the toppings had flavor, just a weird, almost chemical taste. Also tried the garlic knots and cinnamon and sugar knots with icing. Cinnamon and sugar knots with icing were good, but the garlic knots with their cheese sauce was not at all. Huge let down for the cost as this place isn't cheap. I like to sample multiple things from a new place to get a good idea of what they offer, and I know now that this place has...

We had a wonderful celebration surprise party. It was a perfect night until the bill came with a mystery Miscellaneous $100 charge. This was a room charge that was unknown to us causing another family member to pay the $400 bill embarrassingly to the host. Host called to reserve that day months beforehand and asked if a deposit was required to which the employee said no. At this time the room fee COULD HAVE BEEN discussed so that we could've been better prepared. If this is on the menu it was missed and I checked again not seeing it online. Otherwise it was great and our service was perfect. P.s we had disabled people on oxygen and issues walking. After asking if they could use the exit that the delivery drivers use, she said no and then changed their minds. Having a...
