We were having a great morning. When we decided to go to ihop we had not realized how busy it would be as we don’t go out often. My man was just trying to do something nice for me before i had to go to work on my day off none the less. So we went to ihop thinking it would be a good time. Now mind you I have worked at multiple restaurants over the course of ten years now and I have never ever been so uncomfortable somewhere. Because it was so busy and I’ve had customers myself who have ordered Togo and sat down to eat it…. I’ve had customers who have come in just for a cup of coffee even. So to not have to wait too long for both our table and food we ordered Togo so when we sat we could eat and free up a table faster and get to where we need to be faster. Everybody wins right ? And it’s not like it’s an every day thing so why should providing good service to a customer in a hurry be any different. Seeing as how I’ve always been kind and professional and provided excellent service to any customer who has come into anywhere where I’ve worked and still had an amazing experience with my Togo eaters and my coffee drinkers I was thinking I’d get the same…. Well I guess I was wrong. Not only did everyone keep staring at us at first we were all thinking oh haha yeah we’re the weird people whatever. Then I could overhear some of them talking and one of them really went and grabbed the manager to tell us that we cannot do that and honestly just made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome…. For what ? What difference does it make how the food was served and the situation. If I’m in a hurry you would think good customer service would still be provided but no. I’m not sure if it was a problem them thinking we weren’t going to tip or what but that should not determine your customer service regardless. Went from wanting to leave a $20 tip on a $40 bill to not wanting to leave anything which is hard for me being as I have been a server. I just think it was super rude and uncalled for. We would have gotten Togo boxes in the end too so as a server also as well as a manager I don’t understand why they had to be so rude and honestly unprofessional instead of just providing service to someone who had walked into their establishment and ordered and not that it should matter but also was intending on leaving a tip. It’s just crazy to me and not only all this and this terrible experience but the food was absolutely terrible as well. Nothing was cooked the way we asked. All of it was overcooked. I didn’t get my water till last minute because there was no care we were at a table for service to have a good morning just because we ordered Togo. Honestly their whole team was ridiculous and I am glad I no longer work there because I would be embarrassed to be a part of that team treating a customer like that. So much so I’m on here doing something I never do because usually I let things go and don’t care I get it people have bad days but this experience was just something else and for it to come with bad food to not even make it worth the whole thing is just even more disappointing. I’m very big on customer care as a server and manager employee all of it and this...
Read moreWe visited our local IHOP this morning at 10 am, unwittingly on a Sunday. The parking lot was unsurprisingly packed but we found a place as someone was just leaving. I went inside to put our name on the list; we were a party of 4, two adults and two small children. Upon nearing the entrance I see how full the waiting area was and considered finding another breakfast location. Nevertheless, I've been wanting IHOP pancakes so we stayed the course. There wasn't a dedicated host/hostess present so myself and 2 others waited for an employee to come and seat us or at least take our names, though it wasn't long before a hostess showed up.
I was told to anticipate a 15-20 mine wait so I had my family wait in the car rather than crowd the space with impatient, hungry children. I was happily surprised to be called in less than 10 minutes for our table!
The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was family oriented.
I would complain however that this is the 2nd time we've visited and been seated at a severely SLANTED table. The crayons kept rolling off! The edge of the table where my son was seated in his highchair also had an extended "lip" that was slanted even more and his plate seemed precarious.
I also initially thought that the plate my Belgian Dark Chocolate pancakes were served on was too small (see my photos: the large pancakes cross the edge of the plate!) but since they didn't require syrup, it wasn't an issue at all.
Overall, I definitely recommend if you like to splurge on your breakfast calories & sugars every...
Read moreHonestly I don't like to leave bad reviews but the experience was so negative I feel obligated. We show up and you can't even tell if it's open because every outside light is out, inside there are so many dark areas it's uncomfortable.
We couldn't order what we wanted because they were out of all of it. The entire advertisement on the table for gingerbread flavored food was unavailable because they had no ice cream, no gingerbread syrup, and no fruit for the drink. So we ordered other things. My daughter ordered blueberry pancakes and half way through making them they told us they were out of blueberry syrup so they put bananas and strawberry syrup on top of the pancakes...
And they were out of kids menus. Even the hot chocolate was lackluster. Like we got the bottom of the whipped cream can so it was runny and dripping over the sides.
Our waitress pretty much neglected to check on us after that. She was nice when she was there. She even gave my son a special hot chocolate for his birthday.
But during our meal instead of checking on tables our waitress spent 15 minutes complaining loudly to another employee how mad she was at the manager and how bad of a manager she was. It was very very uncomfortable. The entire restaurant could hear.
I recommend not coming here, and I'd be surprised if they were still there in 6 months to a year unless corporate comes in and gives it...
