Subject: Feedback on Dining Experience â Sunday, April 6th
Dear Grits and Eggs,
I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback about my recent dining experience at your restaurant on Sunday, April 6th, around 2:00 PM.
Upon arrival, we were informed that there would be a 30-minute wait, which was understandable. The pianist provided some pleasant entertainment, making the wait feel more enjoyable. However, after the 30 minutes had passed, We were finally called ready to be seated, we were told that our table was ready. Our order was promptly taken, and drinks were served in a reasonable time by our waitress. But oh no, whatâs taking so long with our FOOD order. We people watched, chatted, waited patiently until enough was enough. Okay where is the MGR. We begin to notice that the people weee clearing out and that the couple behind us, who had arrived shortly after we did, had already received their food. At this point, we flagged down our waitress to inquire about our order. She informed us that somehow our order had been removed, and it had to be remade, which led to another 30-minute wait. We had been waiting at least 45 minutes for two simple southern breakfasts â pancakes, eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Unfortunately, the pancakes arrived without butter, which was disappointing.
Given the delay, we requested to speak with the manager or chef to express our dissatisfaction with the service. The manager kindly acknowledged our concerns and offered to reduce the bill for both meals. Additionally, he returned later to let us know that dessert would be complimentary. While we appreciated the gesture, the rainbow cake, which we tried, did not meet our expectations.
To top it off, the bill was reduced by a mere $5 off each meal, which, quite frankly, did little to improve our overall experience. We had hoped for a more satisfying dining experience, especially given that we chose your restaurant over attending the Panda Atlanta Festival, which might have been a more enjoyable option attending in the rain. Hell, we had umbrellas but I guess we were looking for pancake treat. Even the damn pancakes were disappointing but the bacon and potatoes were tasty.
While we appreciated the managerâs attentiveness, the overall experience left us feeling unsatisfied. I believe that we would have been more content with our first choice, even if it meant waiting in the rain at Atlantic Station at the Panda Atlanta Festival.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please do better when it comes to preparation and...
Read moreWorst experience. I walked in and told the server we had a party of 8. She immediately rolled her eyes, made a loud âUGHâ sound and turned her back to me. The manager was standing next to her. I asked them both if that was a problem and should we leave - the server said no and walked away. The manager told me to sit on the side. This was 9:30. The rest of my party came and we were seated at 9:45. We were placed in the corner, half booth, half chairs. The first child went on her knees to crawl across the length of booth because the tables were pushed tightly against the booth. The manager said âget your feet off the seat, you are not at home.â We were taken aback considering (1) her feet werenât on the booth and (2) it was pretty clear the tables were pushed too close to the booth for anyone to walk or even scoot all the way across to the far seat against the window. We ordered drinks within 5 minutes, the coffees took 20 minutes to arrive. The restaurant was probably 15% full at the time. The waitress never smiled and was not friendly, although she did check on us often. We ordered our food. Around 10:30 a few friends showed up that we knew and asked to sit with us. The manager came over and said in a very rude tone âMaâam! You didnât tell me more people were coming.â Make no mistake, she said maâam but was NOT being polite. I responded âweâve been here an hour how would I know they were coming?â One of the girls pulled out the table so they could walk to their seats without touching the booth, in fear of the manager who already scolded them. One of the glasses of water fell and shattered. The only nice person throughout this entire encounter was the man that came over to tell her that it was okay, accidents happen. Honestly someone actually being nice to us at this point was shocking, but appreciated knowing she was little and embarrassed. By this time, the restaurant was full. It was now almost 11:00. We asked the waitress when our food was coming and she said âwhat food?â We laughed and said âare you serious? We ordered well over an hour ago.â She said âyou told me not to put the order in.â At this point we realized they clearly did not want us there, so we asked for our bill so we could leave. We had 2 coffees, a lemonade, tea and waters. They added a 20% tip for being a large party lol. This place may have reviews for good food, but I wouldnât know. We were treated horribly from the moment we walked in the door, I shouldâve known better...
Read moreI was in town for the weekend. Looking for a place for brunch and Grits and Eggs Breakfast Kitchen seemed like it fit the bill. We were a party of three and arrived around 10:15am. Please note that only valet parking is available (insert side eye). Anyway, this place was busy on a Saturday morning. So, naturally we knew we would have to wait, which is fine. We were quoted 15-20 minute wait. This is where the problems began. Our 20 minute wait turned into an ENTIRE HOUR!! Though I was unaware of a waitlist (which I would have joined before arriving), there is still no excuse for those who arrived an placed their name on the list to have to wait that long. There were people who came way after our quoted wait time, that were seated. A nearby group, who were upset about the wait as well, was told by the General Manager that âthose people joined the waitlist last night..â In what world does a waitlist open before the restaurant is even open?! I understand reservations, however waitlists usually start when the restaurant is starting to get busy. The Ghetto. They really need to work on the process of waitlist and those who arrive and put their names down because there is no excuse for people, regardless if they are on the waitlist or not, come before those who are already there waiting to be seated. Also, there is no listed time limit on tables. There were plenty of people done eating, just sitting there having family reunions?! I have been to plenty of brunch restaurants that clearly have time limits posted to ensure the wait isnât atrocious.
With ALL of that out of the way, our waiter Corbin was the absolute best! Though he apologized for the wait, which clearly wasnât his fault, he made sure that our drinks and food came out as soon as it could. He was professional, kind and efficient. We highly recommend the blueberry lemon drop, texas heat of passion and oui kiss mimosa. The chicken and waffles were delicious! The wings were seasoned to perfection and the waffle was made just right. My sister had the 2-pancake meal, which included eggs, bacon and homefries. She didnât enjoy the pancakes, she said they were dry, but everything else was good. This place has potential to be great. Once they work out their waitlist/ waiting time and dining time limit; it would greatly improve the quality of service. Keep in mind there are other locations, so you may have a better experience based on...
