Although the concept of a lash subscription is appealing, I had a horrible experience with this business. I had four different appointments, and all four were either canceled or started 15-30 minutes late.
One of them was due to a technician having an unexpected death in the family, which is completely understandable. However the other 3 appointments were delayed for no apparent reason other than poor management. There were no apologies or even an acknowledgement of the delays on any of this occasions.
On one of the instances, I arrived at the 9am appointment (first one of the day). The door was locked so I stood outside to wait. I waited for about 10 minutes and then I watched the technician park her car and sit in it for about 10-15 minutes. I called corporate to ask what was happening and to let them know I'd had a poor experience. A few minutes later, the technician showed up, never acknowledging the tardiness or asking how they could best accommodate the change in schedule.
The final straw - on the fourth appointment, I showed up for my 5:30 time slot. At 5:25, my technician took the appointment scheduled before me back to her chair. She did not say that she was running late or give me an estimate on when she could start...until I stood standing over her chair checking on the progress and hinting about the time problem. At 5:55, she said she was ready to take me, but by then, my window of time was gone and I was so frustrated with the entire process that I asked her to cancel it. She told me I needed to call corporate to discuss the matter.
When I called, I asked to cancel my subscription and also requested a refund, since the 30 min late start meant that I could not use the service I paid for. This is clearly their fault and not mine. If I had shown up late for an appointment, I'm sure they would have gladly charged me a fee. However... they would not give a refund.
In addition to all of this, their lashes came off easily and wore down faster than what I've experienced previously. Mine only looked great for about 10 days, but other salons have lasted me 2-3 weeks.
Clearly this business does not care about customer service. There are plenty of other places in the area to get your lashes done, so I'd recommend taking your...

My mom got her lashes done at this location and almost immediately had a severe allergic reaction to the point of concern for anaphylaxis. She has gotten her eyelashes done at various places, using different glues and eyelash materials without incident. When I called in request of a refund, as she literally could not wear the lashes and had them taken off less than 24 hours from when she had them put on, I was told that they couldnât offer a refund as policy because âif they offered refunds to everybody who had an issue they wouldnât make a profitâ. Very concerning. The owner also relayed to me that her own daughter had a problem with her lashes but due to âseasonal allergiesâ and that there are tests they can do for sensitivity but itâs âtoo expensiveâ for them to do. As I told the owner, I will be contacting the relevant authorities as I do not believe it is a known/anticipated potential of risk to have this level of reaction, I would warn anyone coming to this location that there are better and less expensive options that would be more gracious than not making you pay $30 for the removal if you should have a problem.
Response to Summer:
Hi Summer,
You in fact did state it was too expensive to do the tests on everyone as it requires putting a test lash on the person. As I stated in my review, you did not make her pay for removal but honestly that's the least you could have done. I received the waiver, however as I stated in our conversation, waivers do not totally eliminate all liability. Having such a severe reaction that would necessitate medical intervention I would think warrants an exception to an otherwise fair policy. The corporate office as well was shocked at the photos I sent and said if possible they would have refunded her. Again, as I said to you, if this was a simple irritation and she had to have them off there would be no problem. I doubt any person coming to your business would expect to have to go to urgent care after receiving...
Read moreI booked an appointment on 1/18 for a lash lift at the Cumberland location with no preference for an artist. Both my confirmation email and text state no preference and that my total would be $89.99. I waited over 20 minutes to be sat. I asked one of the artists that was closest to the door if someone would be seeing me soon and she said very rudely "She'll be with you in a second". Eventually, someone came for me and I explained to her that my lashes are extremely curly and I would like them to be straightened out with the lash lift. I am very aware this is possible as I went to another Deka Lash location only 2 miles away and the artist I went to did a great job. While I was sitting there with the solution on my lashes, the artist, Cassandra, rudely and inappropriately talked on the phone to someone telling them "Make sure you clean the fridge, be ready by 2:30, we're going to a baby shower" and other things. She cleans off my lashes and doesn't even hand me a mirror to see what they look like. I spent the next few hours running errands and when I finally get a chance to look at lashes they were MORE CURLY than when I came in initially. She quite literally did the opposite of what I asked for. I check my email and see that I was charged $7.99 for a master lash artist fee and my total was $97.98. I called the customer service line and the agent told me everyone in the student is a master lash artist and that's why I was charged the fee. If I wanted to make sure I don't charged then I should call the customer service number before booking. She told me the studio would not refund me for the master lash artist fee. I asked if I could speak to the studio manager directly and she said I would get a call. Today, 1/22, I call customer service again and was told the studio refuses to speak to me, I would not get a refund, and I cannot get any proof of my profile showing the studio manager said this. I paid $100 to look ridiculous and can't get refunded for...
