A friend of mine hosted a Galantine's Day dinner at P.F. Chang's for a large party. The ambience was perfect for our pink & red theme and we were set up in a space towards the entrance with dim lighting away from most of the other parties, allowing us a bit of privacy.
Our server, Abelito, was handling ALL tables by himself, and as you can imagine this resulted in slower service. This worked in our favor because we were there to mingle and socialize too. We were able to play a few games at our table and converse without feeling rushed. The server was sweet and attentive even though it took a while for appetizers, drink orders and mains to come out. He was even kind enough to take a group photo for us, which was much appreciated.
I was a little nervous about the food because the latest reviews were very hit and miss. However, the menu was impressive. I loved that they had gluten free options as well as the calories listed for each entree. This was extremely helpful for my fitness journey because I log my meals & calories! They had specialty cocktails & many of the ladies opted for a seasonal Valentine's Day beverage (think pink cosmo with cherry included). I did not have alcohol, but enjoyed my water with lemon & no tap-like taste!
For my entree, I opted for the sesame chicken with broccoli (extra broccoli added for 99 cents) and steamed white rice (steamed brown rice was available too). If you like broccoli, I would recommend paying for a little extra because the entree includes 3-4 small pieces (chopped finely) without it. It also had red sweet peppers and onion. The temperature of my food was warm (almost lukewarm), but it did taste fresh. It is likely that our food sat so it could be brought out with others from the table. They did not remember our rice, so I had to wait a little longer for that & then still had to wait a few minutes more because they sent out brown rice instead of white.
Once I got everything, I had finished most of my entree, but I opted to take the remainder home with the rice to have for leftovers. The flavor was good & I was glad with my meal choice and it was under $30! Overall, I enjoyed myself because of the party that I was with and appreciated the kind server as well. I hope that they work on staffing issues because I could see how that could damper the experience if someone was in a hurry or not with a group of people that brought the vibes in the same way that my party did. I would come back if in the area for a healthy lunch too,...
Read moreI don’t usually do reviews and I am late doing this one but I absolutely must post a review of my experience.
My husband and I hosted a Sweet 16 dinner celebration for my daughter in the private room here at the Cumberland Mall location on 3/29/2025. From beginning to end the customer service from this staff was absolutely amazing. We were a very large group that opted to split the bill multiple ways. Anyone that has dined out knows how confusing and difficult that can be. Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldo! Ronaldo was the most patient, helpful, and kind person I have ever experienced in the restaurant industry! We the guest definitely had confusion surrounding our bill, splitting the balance, as well as splitting the bill amongst at the minimum of about 15 different cards/cash payments. It was a very time consuming process and not once did he ever seem annoyed or frustrated. Not once did he ever make me feel rushed. He answered all my questions. He allowed us to take all the time we needed ensuring everyone’s bill was correct and split the way we wanted and needed. His level of patience is superior. He turned what was a frustrating process for myself the host into a very delightful experience.
The servers were so great and attentive as well! Nyla, Angel and I forget our other server’s name (please forgive me!) but all of three of them were amazing. They happily greeted us. They were patient. They were so kind, attentive and accommodating! They made our dining experience amazing and our celebration wonderful!
The event coordinator Matthew was amazing as well. He answered all my emails in a timely fashion and was very helpful! Even through email communication his tone read happy, positive and polite.
I would absolutely dine here again as well as host private events here. Especially if I can work with the same staff!
Ronaldo, Nyla, Angel, her name escapes me I am so sorry but her customer service does not, and Matthew; Thank You! I can’t express my appreciation and gratitude enough. You all...
Read moreThe Valentine’s Day debacle... setting the scene for our Day-before-Valentine’s dinner... we walk in with a reservation, no one cares, we’re seated right next to the entrance. That’s ok. Couple minutes later, our waiter comes, takes our order for the V-day special we had to point out to him, and wait for our bottle of bubbles.. are told they’re ‘working on the wine’ And finally, 15 minutes later the bar lady pops the cork, pours it into a wine glass and leaves without removing the cork from the table. The lettuce wraps are fine. Our mains come out another 15 minutes later and while my Valentine’s Mongolian beef is lovely, my sea bass looks carelessly plated and isn’t hot anymore. Another 20 minutes later, the cheesecake is brought out sans the promised raspberry sauce and spoons and placed on the table with all the other dishes still there, a romantic sharing of desserts is not on the cards tonight, I guess. But should we use our chopsticks to share the cheesecake? Don’t think so. So we ask for spoons and are given plastic to-go spoons 🤣 and the raspberry sauce. The cheesecake tastes really nice with the sauce. Anyway, we ask for some to-go boxes and P.F. Chang’s has stopped the table side boxing of your food. Hilariously, we’re given 3 box bottoms and 1 lid which don’t even close properly. We ask for the bill which takes another 20 minutes because apparently, they forgot to charge it as the $95-for-two-special and it had to be changed. Oh, but it wasn’t changed.. it was $98.50 plus tax and the bill isn’t even brought out in a sleeve thingy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about the waiter. The dude has not been trained. He probably started a week ago, was given a uniform and told to wait the tables. It’s management who doesn’t know how to train their staff. This was by far the most depressing Valentine’s dinner we had in 10 years of marriage. What happened to good ol’ P.F. Chang’s? By far the worst experience at one of your restaurants ever and I strongly doubt we will...
