Ashley's is a comfortable and nicely appointed bar/restaurant inside the Holiday Inn on Greenwich Rd. The service was excellent, the seating comfortable, and the food was tasty. The menu is a bit limited, and a bit pricey compared to similar restaurants, i.e. Ruby Tuesday's, Applebee's, Chili's, etc. We both had the classic burger with fries. Mine medium rare, and my friend's medium, and they were cooked perfectly! The fries were good and semi crispy, not soggy at all, and they had some kind of seasoning on them reminiscent of bbq potato chips. The burgers came with lettuce, tomato and red onion, with mayo on the side, and a dill pickle spear. I lucked out because my friend doesn't like onions or dill pickles, so I got hers! Our burger meals were $11 each. Any other menu options were similarly priced or higher. They don't have good prices on wine or beer or cocktails, so we just opted for ice water, which was regularly refilled. Our server was prompt, professional and informative, and our food came out within 8-10 minutes. We were the only table for lunch, but they were doing a brisk take out business at the hostess stand, and there were a couple of people at the bar. Nice place for basic bar food in a comfortable and quiet setting. Service stood out more than the food. We may go again because it is so close to my office, but we will probably get salads with chicken or salmon, or perhaps 2 appetizers to share, like quesadillas and sliders. Great option if you're staying at that hotel, as they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND the ladies restroom was very nice,...
Read moreQuality of food was great. But way too pricey. And the service was terrible. Not once did our server ask how our meals were. My wife and son both got cola to drink. They came in some small wine glass with no ice and no straw. We were never asked if we would like desert. They server just took our plates when we finished eating and came right back with our check. And my wife paid with a credit card and the server brought the card itself back but no receipt. After all that it made total sense why there where only two tables there for dinner beside ours. The restaurant was absolutely empty. The bartender was great though. Very attentive. When I finished my beer she was quick to come to our table and ask if I would like another. I never had to wait on a drink. As I said. The food was very good. But the service...
Read moreWent during VA Beach Restaurant Week. Upon entering we were greeted with smiles and immediately seated. We were given menus by the greeter but she didn't mention or give us Restaurant Week menus. There were no signs to advertise the weeklong event. We had to ask about it. However our waitress, Ashley, was quite prepared with the event's information. Our food was cooked to perfection. We had 2 of the 3-course features. The Mahi and the salmon were both tender and perfectly seasoned. The appetizers, chicken tenders and quesadillas, were tasty and plentiful. We had delicious key lime pie for dessert. Our dining experience was quite pleasant. Ashley was wonderful. The atmosphere needed some lighting. The exterior lighting was lacking and could...
