I recently had the pleasure of trying out Corey's Chicken Shack for lunch, and it exceeded all expectations! We had heard fantastic reviews about this place, and we decided to give it a try for a to-go lunch. Our order included the White Meat Chicken entree paired with homemade Mac and Cheese and Green Beans, along with the 4 Wingettes and 4 Shrimp combo, complemented by Potato Salad and Coleslaw. The total cost was just a little under $35, but the portions were so generous that we ended up with leftovers for another satisfying meal the next day.
What sets Corey's Chicken Shack apart is its authentic Southern cooking. As aficionados of Southern cuisine, we truly appreciated the genuine flavors and the quality of the food. You can instantly tell that the ingredients are fresh, and each dish is made to order, ensuring the utmost freshness.
What impressed us even more was the impeccable service. The "chef" personally presented our to-go boxes, describing the contents in both boxes before carefully packaging everything. They included all the necessary plasticware and condiments, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
Overall, Corey's Chicken Shack left a lasting impression, and we're already considering them for our next party that requires catering. If you're in the mood for authentic Southern cuisine made with love and care, Corey's Chicken Shack is definitely worth a visit. The quality, freshness, and attention to detail make it a standout choice in the world of comfort food. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFreshness. On target. Hot. Absolutely. Overcooked. Over salted. Customer Service. Awesome and friendly. Excellent communication. Flavor. Oh boy. Yes, however, when you OVER season the breading in which you nestle the meat in, or cook your vegetables in SALTā¦. It becomes the primary flavor, instead of the Chicken, or livers, or veggies. The item lays as secondary. I love this place. But this is the third try on the livers, I have to provide this feedback. The two sides were so over salted. Food, in general does not need over seasoning. Collards and cabbage were not edible. My tongue was stinging from the amount that was in there. Trust me. I am not a picky eater. Suggestion: Compliment the meats and sides, do not cover these wonderful food item flavors with salt. You can add these later. Take the livers out of the oil a bit earlier to prevent drying them out. I could not taste the Chicken livers, plus they were very dry. All Overpowering. One girlās opinion. I cook livers at home myself. I appreciate that this place has livers. Just consider cutting back the sodium. People can add at the table if needed. I was disappointed to say the least. I went in hungry. I could not eat this meal, my husband also tasted my meal. He got the chicken special, with potato salad and ate it up. I thought his was much better. I fixed myself something else at home and had to toss my $12 lunch, I hate writing these reviews. A phone call I could have made, but I hate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've always wanted good soul food when in Williamsburg and this time I found it at Corey's. From the greeting at the door to the choice of kool aid or sweet tea this place is where you need to go for down home cooking. Look at the size of the biscuit!!! I gave five stars because of it. Soft and fluffy melt in your mouth sweet biscuit like grandma used to make only these gems were humbly made by Mr. John. š It appeared to have a full kitchen of men cooking who threw down, the food was delicious. Talk about Diners, drive-ins and dives; this place should be on it. I had fried wingettes which in my opinion should have been whole wings for the price but the taste and biscuits made me not complain about the cost. I also had fried shrimp and collards which I usually don't eat but they were delicious and yams that I wish I could get mine to taste like. My hubby had fried chicken livers smothered in onions and gravy, mashed potatoes and cabbage. Man!! y'all everything was delicious. Don't let the pics fool you, we took food home it was a lot. The tea and kool aid were sweet, reminded me of when i was a kid!!š We dined in because they were so very nice and there's take out. Not sure about delivery. So if you're in the mood for some good down home southern soul food in Williamsburg get yourself over to Corey's it is truly worth the trip and is a new stop for us...
