Mediocre experience with a few bright spots, leaving me not likely to return
We were looking for a quick bite after getting into town on a Saturday night and had a craving for pizza. Decided to give this place a try. Overall, the experience wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t great, it landed somewhere in the middle.
Right off the bat, we ran into issues with getting seated. Despite the clearly posted “Please wait to be seated” sign, no one greeted us. Several staff members overlooked us, including a bartender working right next to the host stand, not a one acknowledged us. After waiting several minutes and debating whether to leave, a young Asian man who had been helping a nearby table finally noticed us and seated us. He ended up being our server.
Although he seemed a bit inexperienced and sometimes hovered or was difficult to understand, I could tell he was trying hard and genuinely wanted to do a good job. With some more training and experience , I think he’ll be a solid server.
We ordered a large pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni. It wasn’t the worst pizza I’ve had, but it was far from the best. The crust was somewhere between a bar pie and something thicker, not quite NY-style, which I prefer. The sauce had okay flavor, but the cheese tasted like pre-shredded bagged cheese, which brought down the overall quality. That said, I’d still choose this over the big chain options if I was in the area again.
Now for the biggest downside: the atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being mostly empty at 6:00 PM on a Saturday, they had a “DJ” hosting some sort of game show-style event. He was loud, awkward, and didn’t seem comfortable running the activity. It completely disrupted the vibe. We just wanted a simple dinner, not to be part of a live trivia show or interactive event. I don’t understand the decision to host something like this during dinner hours. It didn’t seem to be drawing in a crowd, and it definitely made the experience less enjoyable.
In summary, the food was decent, the service had potential, but the lack of greeting and disruptive entertainment made it...
Read moreI came to pick up my order tonight and there was already a gentleman waiting to pick up his order at the counter. The female bartender walked right in front of him and he said, “Excuse me, miss,” to try to get her attention. She looked right at him, scoffed, and then turned and walked to the other end of the bar. She stood there for a bit and then started chatting with another server, occasionally looking over our way. We had 3 other servers walk by. Not one asked if we needed anything even though we had been standing there for a few minutes. Finally I stopped a 4th server walking by us and asked if we just pick up our orders off the bar or what. She asked if we were there for DoorDash and I said I wasn’t but I’m wasn’t sure about the gentleman who was in front of me. She finally took him over to the counter to check him out then returned and handed me my pizza since I prepaid online.
This all happened 28Feb at about 630p. It was not very busy at all, maybe a dozen people within my eyesight, so there wasn’t any reason for us to be ignored.
This was my first time in and the pizza was good, but I won’t be back and will discourage others from going here because of how awful the service was. I don’t mind waiting in restaurants, but to watch the gentleman in front of me get completely ignored when he tried to get people’s attention and then for no one to even acknowledge that there was a line forming, was really...
Read moreWell, lets get into this review. I'll start with the outside and inside a real vibe. Again, a google search, hey it's pizza. Well, well, I stand completely correct. The pizza is sooo good. I'm mad that I only order slice. The itlay slice, had me. licking my fingers. The garlic dough and fresh mozzarella cheese i want to visit Italy 🤣🤣. The garden pizza every vegetables was fresh cut. Traditional pizza had a sweet red sauce wasn't quit find but after getting it home and warming up, it was on the money. We did not stay for the DJ.. Or play corn hole outside. but for a date night VIBE. Now, I have to end with the liquid drink that had me smile after two drinks. It is an absolute surprise for a bar restaurant. I only wish that I got her name to give her the credit. But the lemon drop martini was for the win ☺️🤗
10/14/2023 Still did not disappoint. I suggest that you request a hard crust. My slice was not cooked to brown protection. But flavor and taste continue to be on POINTs.
12/23/23 After a day of shopping, I ended my day at my favorite pizza place in Williamsburg, $ 2 can beers on Sat and a lemon drop martini 🥰💕. Tried the mango habanero wings and nice crips and flavors. Of course, we got pizza 🍕. D.J ready to the...
